The line stacking prices have been adjusted but there is value on some. Before, I was betting on every stack because the pricing was great, now I have to take a little more time and be selective. It's still a great way to bet hockey, it's just not as automatic as it once was.
My NHL player props are double dipping on a New York Rangers forward being promoted to the first power-play unit, adding a stack in the same game but different team, while hitting the nightcap for a big plus-money stack.
These are my three favorite NHL picks for Monday, November 25.
NHL prop picks and best bets for November 25
- Lafreniere o0.5 points + o2.5 SOG (+190 at bet365)
- Kyrou + Thomas o0.5 points each (+150 at DraftKings)
- Laferriere + Byfield o0.5 points each (+280 at bet365)

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets
Prop bet #1: Alexis Lafreniere Over 0.5 points + Over 2.5 SOG
With Chris Kreider out of the New York Rangers lineup due to an upper-body injury, it's time for former first-overall pick Alexis Lafreniere to get some PP1 time. Fourteen of his 16 points have come at 5-on-5 but a move to PP1 with his current linemates of Vincent Trochek and Artemi Panarin should increase his time on ice and offensive opportunities.
It's also a decent matchup vs. the St. Louis Blues, who own the fourth-worst save percentage on the season at 86.62.
Lafreniere sits third on the team in points/60 but because his Over 0.5 points has moved to as short as -165 today, I'm going to add his Over 2.5 SOG to push this single-player SGP to +190. His Over 0.5 power play points is also a buy at +700 and something I'd bet to +500.
Laffy has points in six of his last seven games while playing on the second PP unit while hitting the 3-SOG mark in four straight.
Prop bet #2: Jordan Kyrou + Robert Thomas Over 0.5 points each
The Rangers are returning from the West Coast and have been playing some of their worst hockey. The front office has publicly said they are open for trading and have mentioned players by name. Igor Shesterkin has seemingly lost his starting job, which mirrors last year as well.
In short, the Rangers are a great team to fade tonight at home vs. the Blues, who are healthy and have Robert Thomas back in the lineup while also playing their first game with a new coach in Jim Montgomery.
The entire first line of Thomas, Jordan Kyrou, and Pavel Buchnevich is also playing together on the first power-play unit, and +294 for each skater to get a point. However, I don't need to get greedy here and am happy to take Kyrou and Thomas for a point each at +150.
Thomas has had a point in each of his three games since returning and is getting big ice time at nearly 22 minutes per game. Kyrou has also pointed in nine of his last 11 games and is also playing around 20 minutes per game of late.
This is a top-heavy STL offense and this top line should find the score sheet vs. a tired and struggling Rangers team.
Prop bet #3: Alex Laferriere + Quinton Byfield Over 0.5 points each
The Los Angeles Kings get a great matchup tonight vs. the San Jose Sharks, who rank 31st in expected goals against/60 but have had some good goaltending to mask the odors of a poor defensive team. No team is giving up more high-danger chances while the penalty kill ranks 30th on the season and dead last at 61% in November.
That's great news for Quinton Byfield and Alex Laferriere, who play on the third line together but also on the first power-play unit using five forwards right now. Byfield averages around 0.5 points per game while Laferriere sits third on the team in points with 15 over 21 matches.
It's such a great PP matchup for the Kings tonight that getting third-line players who also play on PP1 is a must-add for the card. As always, shop around, as this is +244 at DraftKings, but that is still a buy at that price.
