It’s a massive 13-game slate, which is a lot to look through, but I’m settling on my three favorite stacks of the night. Prices have fluctuated, but with 26 teams in action, there are plenty of choices.

These are my three best-correlated NHL player props on Thursday, January 16.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: William Eklund + Macklin Celebrini + Tyler Toffoli Over 0.5 points each

+355 at bet365

The San Jose Sharks finally have a line I can bet on that plays together at 5-on-5 and on PP1. It’s also a line coming off a combined eight-point night vs. the Red Wings in a 6-3 win. Macklin Celebrini, Tyler Toffoli, and William Eklund should see plenty of time together following the victory.

The trio is +355 to each get a point in a good matchup vs. the Blue Jackets, who have the highest-scoring games in the league on home ice.

The Sharks are a live +150 road dog vs. a Columbus team that has been playing above its numbers over the last 30 days at 9-4 SU. Columbus has been a favorite just eight times this year and is 3-5 SU in those games.

Celebrini is in the middle of a Calder run, and backing his line tonight at a price above +300 is a fun way to ride the rookie.

Prop bet #2: Mikael Backlund + Blake Coleman + Jordan Kyrou + Dylan Holloway Over 0.5 points each

+1400 at bet365

You don’t have to be as aggressive as me on this play, but I like these doubles together. For what it’s worth, Blake Coleman and Mikael Backlund are +300 alone, while the St. Louis double stack is +175.

A big part of this is the play of both teams’ penalty kills, with each club ranking in the Bottom 5 of the league while shorthanded.

They just played a 2-1 game on Tuesday, but both lines saw plenty of ice time, and each side was the opening power-play unit, which is important as the PP1 group gets the opening draw in the offensive zone.

Books might be pricing these lines as second-string lines at 5-on-5 and with the extra attacker, but they have worked themselves up the ladder and are the best offensive options for each side.

The stack of all stacks in this game is adding Matt Coronato and Brayden Schenn to make it a 33/1. I’m happy with the double-double stack at half a unit mostly due to a total of 5.5. There are many combinations here, but I like these two lines specifically.

Prop bet #3: Patrick Kane + Alex DeBrincat Over 0.5 points each

+200 at bet365

I think the books are overvaluing the Panthers.

The Detroit Red Wings and the Panthers are literally identical teams over the last 30 days while Detroit is 7-2 SU since the coach change to Todd McLellan. I don’t see why the Wings are +200 on the moneyline, and that’s giving value to their point prop Overs.

Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat are +200 for a point each which is the highest it’s been in over five games. This stack has been as short as +120 of late, and the frequency of this hitting has been off the charts.

Over Detroit’s seven-game winning streak, the Kane/DeBrincat stack went undefeated — cashing seven straight times. I also love taking second-line players on the road as the home side tends to match up vs. the top line giving the second line an easier matchup.

One more path for this stack is through the power play, which has been unreal for the Wings since the coach change. They’ve scored multiple PP goals in five of their last eight games.
