The Edmonton Oilers have now lost three out of their last four games and are set to face the hottest team in hockey... the New York Rangers.

The Rangers' offense cannot be stopped right now, as trading for Vladimir Tarasenko has turned this team into a true offensive juggernaut. The Blueshirts have scored six goals in every single one of their last three games.

Considering that the Oilers are the best offense in the NHL, there should be plenty of goals expected tonight.

Rangers vs Oilers picks and predictions

The New York Rangers have been on absolute fire lately when it comes to offensive production as they are getting contributions throughout the lineup. New York is now a team that is three lines deep, which makes them very scary to play against. In their last five games, the Rangers have scored 27 goals combined.

Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers have had no trouble putting the puck in the net thanks to the duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Over their last five games, the Oilers have tallied a total of 18 goals with McDavid and Draisaitl combining for 11 points during that span.

The Oilers have converted on the power play in three straight games and the Rangers have scored on three of their last five attempts. Even though the total is currently listed at 7, I still like the Over with the way both teams are clicking offensively.

My best bet: Over 7 (+105 at BetMGM)

Rangers vs Oilers moneyline analysis

The Oilers have dominated the Rangers in recent history, winning six out of the last seven contests between the two clubs. The most recent game included a 3-0 comeback by the Oilers back on November 26, defeating the Rangers 4-3 at Madison Square Garden.

However, Edmonton has not been very strong on home ice this season. skating to just a 13-11-4 record in their own building.

The Rangers have been one of the better road teams in the NHL, with 16 wins at road barns. Even though the luck hasn’t been on their side against Edmonton recently, I feel like we have to ride the hot hand and go with New York.

Rangers vs Oilers Over/Under analysis

No matter who is starting in goal, this game is all about the offense. The Oilers are currently averaging 3.5 xGF/60, and the Rangers have been solid as well at 3.26 xGF/60. The offense is buzzing on both sides, but the skill level in this game is incredible.

McDavid and Draisaitl are obviously the focal points for the Oilers, but the Rangers have multiple lines that are currently clicking on all cylinders.

This game has the potential to be an absolute barn burner and I love the Over tonight.
