We're through one event of the FedExCup playoffs and 70 golfers have advanced to the BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club in Delaware.
Will Zalatoris came away with a victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship after winning a three-hole playoff against Sepp Straka on Sunday and, as a result, moved into first place in the FedExCup standings, narrowly ahead of Scottie Scheffler, who missed the cut for just the fourth time all year on the weekend.

Notes on the Field
After the opening salvo of the FedExCup playoffs at TPC Southwind last weekend, the field has thinned to just 70 remaining competitors vying for position in the standings ahead of the TOUR Championship in Atlanta next weekend. This marks the first time that the PGA Tour is hosting an event at the Wilmington Country Club, though it is a course that has been around for more than a century.
Favorites to win the 2022 BMW Championship
Rory McIlroy (+1,100)
McIlroy missed the cut last weekend at the TPC Southwind, marking just the second tournament this year where he hasn't reached the weekend. As a result, the two-time FedExCup champion dropped to ninth spot in the standings. Not a massive derailment by any means, and oddsmakers aren't about to lose faith in McIlroy, either.
Before the FedEx St. Jude Championship, McIlroy had made eight consecutive cuts — in limited action — and finished no worse than T19 while peppering in a win and four other Top-5 finishes.
Jon Rahm (+1,500)
The former OWGR No. 1 golfer went in the other direction from McIlroy last weekend. While Rahm did come away with a win at the Mexico Open in early May, the Spaniard cracked the Top 30 in just two of his ensuing five tournaments. However, he bounced back to finish T5 at TPC Southwind with an -11.
And even if 2022 hasn't exactly gone according to plan, Rahm hasn't missed a cut since last September.
Five golfers at +1,600
We're down to the absolute best of the best so there isn't much discrepancy when it comes to the odds. Will Zalatoris, who came away with the big win on the weekend, was among those at +1,600 pre-tournament. So, too, was OWGR World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who missed the cut in Memphis. Joining them were 2021 TOUR Champion Patrick Cantlay, Tony Finau, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Justin Thomas.
Zalatoris took over the FedExCup points lead and another 2,000 points will go to this weekend's winner.
Notable longshots for the BMW Championship
Adam Scott (+6,000)
Scott entered the playoffs on the bubble in 77th spot, needing a great showing in Memphis to stay alive for at least another week. He pulled through admirably, finishing T5 with Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Finau, Fitzpatrick, Andrew Putnam, and Trey Mullinax. As a result, he jumped all the way to 45th.
The Aussie hasn't won on Tour since 2020, but as he presses on into the FedExCup Playoffs, he's a viable longshot.
Davis Riley (+8,000)
One of five PGA Tour rookies to punch a ticket to the BMW Championship, Riley fared decently at TPC Southwind, shooting -6 over the four-day tournament. He's still seeking his first win, though he had four Top-5 finishes this year with his best being a second-place finish at the Valspar, where he lost in a playoff to Sam Burns.
