Sentry Tournament of Champions pre-tournament favorites

Jon Rahm (+800)

Jon Rahm enters 2022 as OWGR No. 1 and enters this week as a co-favorite to win at +800. Rahm is coming off his best year yet in 2021 and only appears to be getting better — finishing Top 8 or better in every major in 2021 including a U.S. Open victory at Torrey Pines.

Rahm finished T17 at this tournament last year, with his best finish here being runner-up in 2018.

Justin Thomas (+800)

Right there with him at +800 is Justin Thomas, who enters the year as OWGR. No. 8. JT has won this tournament twice — in 2020 in playoff fashion, and in 2017 by three strokes.

He's entering 2022 with strong form, with Top-5 finishes in four of his last six PGA Tour starts.

Collin Morikawa (+1,000)

OWGR No. 2 Collin Morikawa enters the week third on the board, available at +1,000. Morikawa is coming off a heater of a year, where he tallied three wins (Open Championship, DP World Tour Championship, and WGC Workday Championship @ Concession).

He finished T7 here last year and can get closer (if not pass) to Rahm as OWGR No. 1 with a win this weekend.

Behind the Top 3 favorites are a number of PGA Tour stars with 16/1 odds or better, including Bryson DeChambeau (+1,200), Viktor Hovland (+1,200), Xander Schauffele (+1,200), Patrick Cantlay (+1,400), and Sam Burns (+1,600).

Last year's champion, Harris English, is on the board at +3,300.

How to bet on PGA Tour odds

The most popular way to bet on golf is by simply picking the winner, which is also referred to as outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager, however. Some of the more popular markets include head-to-head betting, where sportsbooks pair up two golfers and you simply choose who you think will have the lower score over the course of the weekend or for one round only.

There are also 3-way betting markets (choose the best golfer among three choices) and group betting (choose the best golfer amongst a group of players).

Other ways to wager include Top-5/Top-10/Top-20 finish, top golfer by nationality, to make the cut/to not make the cut, and the leader after each round. Then, of course, there's the popular prop bet of whether or not there will be a hole in one at the tournament.
