Toni Kroos has returned to the Germany squad and will be hoping to finish his career in style with another trophy. The team possesses lots of weapons on attack, such as Jamal Musiala and German soccer’s golden boy Florian Wirtz, who has had an outstanding season for Bayer Leverkusen.
The major issues are up front where they lack a world-class number nine, with Kai Havertz likely to start down the middle and Dortmund’s Niclas Fullkrug — a more traditional striker — likely to start on the bench. He'll provide an attacking threat from the bench, as will Thomas Muller, who can add guile and experience if the team needs it.
Germany best bet for Euro 2024
Jamal Musiala — Germany Top Assistman (+400 at Betano)
The most exciting part of Germany is the dual-10s system Nagelsmann will employ, allowing Musiala and Wirtz to work in tandem. Both players are +400 favorites to lead their country in assists and there’s nobody else in this team who feels close to either man to win this.
While both are talented, it’s Musiala who better fits the profile to rack up the assists, with Wirtz potentially offering more in terms of goalscoring.
Both players have incredible movement, but it’s Musiala’s reading of space that makes him so special. Having trained and played alongside Thomas Muller, he’s picked up some of his reading of the game, and combined with Musiala’s close control, it makes him incredibly dangerous.
Wirtz and Havertz both have good speed and movement, so Musiala should be able to weave himself into positions to free them and create chances for either play to score. His passing ability is exceptional, and he'll be able to probe opposing defenses and set his teammates up for success.
