We have Friday action in the Premier League with Leicester City and Brentford meeting under the floodlights of the King Power Stadium.
Brentford can leap into the top half of the table with a win over relegation-threatened Leicester, but it’s a game the hosts will be desperate to win too.
Our Leicester City vs Brentford predictions have one of Leicester’s stars, Boubakary Soumare, getting booked.

My analysis
This week’s Premier League slate gets underway on Friday with an important matchup under the floodlights of the King Power Stadium. Brentford haven’t been great away from home this season, winning just three of 12 road games, and losing seven, which is the most of any team outside of the bottom three. Brentford are a very good team but with that away record you’d expect Leicester to be looking at this as a game that they could well win. Leicester are in real need of those three points and a victory on Friday would see them escape the relegation zone and overtake Ipswich and Wolves, with both teams playing later in the weekend.
It’s a big game for Brentford too, who can jump back into the top half of the table and continue in what’s been a good season. Despite being 11th they’re in close proximity to Brighton, Aston Villa, and Fulham, while catching Newcastle, who are seven points better off and in the final European spot, isn’t out of the question if they get a run going.
With this game feeling like a must-win for both teams, we can expect it to be tense and hard-fought, with big tackles and teams pushing the boundaries of the rulebook. One man who is in danger of getting caught up in that is Boubakary Soumare, the Leicester City holding midfielder who often finds himself in trouble with the referee.
Soumare spent last season on loan at Sevilla following the team’s relegation to the Championship but he returned after promotion and is an important part of the midfield, using his athleticism to screen the defense and break up opposition play. With Bryan Mbuemo and Mikkel Damsgaard in great form, it’s essential that he plays well and tries to disrupt Brentford from getting their rhythm.
Sadly, Soumare is a walking yellow card. The Frenchman has already racked up an incredible eight yellow cards this season, despite playing just 18 times, of which four came from the bench. Four players have more yellow cards than him, all tied on nine, but Soumare is the next worst in terms of his disciplinary record. On a minutes-per-yellow-card basis, he’s averaging 0.56 yellow cards per 90 minutes played, one of the worst records in the Premier League. What’s worth noting is that seven of his eight bookings have come at the King Power Stadium, which bodes well ahead of this game at that very stadium.
He's undoubtedly Leicester’s dirtiest player, but that’s not really a shock given that he’s holding the midfield in a very poor Premier League team. He makes 1.9 tackles per game, 1.19 interceptions per game, and a rather predictably bad rate of 1.33 fouls per 90 minutes played.
Soumare is rash and often dangerous in his tackling. In a game of such importance, under the floodlights in his home ground, then we can expect another booking for the 25-year-old.
Leicester City vs Brentford same-game parlay (SGP)
Firstly, include our best bet for the game. Then add in Brentford to win. The away team isn’t great away from home, picking up three wins in 12 road trips but they have better players and a far better coach than Leicester. With Leicester’s recent struggles, they’re destined for the drop and the Bees are a great plus-money wager to win this game.
The final leg of this SGP is for both teams not to score. Leicester have averaged a goal per game in the Premier League this season, scoring the third-fewest goals in the division. The major problem is that they also struggle to score on home soil, something that you wouldn’t expect. They’ve scored more than one goal just twice at home all season and have gone five straight games without scoring at the King Power Stadium.
