We find out the last finalist for the EFL Cup final on Thursday with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur meeting in the second leg of their semi-final at Anfield.

Spurs hold a 1-0 lead but Liverpool have been incredible on home soil this season. With that in mind our Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur predictions have Arne Slot’s team winning the game but with Spurs manage to score at least one goal in return.

Read on for my EFL Cup picks for Thursday, February 6 with kickoff at 3:00 p.m. ET on Paramount Plus.

Liverpool vs Tottenham picks and predictions

My best bet:
Liverpool moneyline + both teams to score (+108 at TonyBet)

My analysis
On Thursday we have the second of this week’s EFL Cup semi-finals with Liverpool and Tottenham vying to seal that spot at Wembley in March as they look for their first silverware of the season. For Tottenham, the pursuit of silverware has been a long one, with the club’s long stretch without a trophy becoming a meme amongst rivals. Meanwhile, Arne Slot would love to secure a trophy in his first season in England, even if it’s just a warm-up for the Premier League title that his Liverpool team are currently favorites for.

When these teams met last month Spurs managed to secure a tight 1-0 win. They did that despite having just 39% possession, as well as fewer shots and shots on target, than Liverpool. Lightning doesn’t strike twice, especially with the second leg of this tie taking place at Anfield. However, the odds of -435 on the home win are prohibitively low. Instead, we’re backing Liverpool to win and both teams to score for the following reasons.

Firstly, we’re backing the Liverpool win because of a number of reasons. They come into this game missing only Trent Alexander-Arnold, that’s in stark comparison to Tottenham’s injury list which has no less than nine potential starters on it. Liverpool have also been arguably the best team in Europe over the past six months. They’re six points clear at the top of the Premier League, topped the Champions League group stage, have lost just three games all season, and have Mohamed Salah, arguably the most in-form player on the planet right now.

One thing this Spurs team does have, even with the injuries, is a goal threat. Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, and Son Heung-Min are all capable of scoring goals, especially with Ange Postecoglou’s attacking philosophy. Domestically, Spurs have been the Both teams to score kings this season, with a huge 70.8% of their Premier League games seeing both teams net. They’ve only kept four clean sheets on the road in the league this year and now face the best team in Europe. Meanwhile, Spurs have managed to score in all but four Premier League games across the whole season.

This game has goals in it but Tottenham have shown naivety throughout Postecoglou’s reign and they’ll be unable to keep Liverpool out. Back Liverpool to win and Both teams to score, with Liverpool likely to come out on top of a game that could turn into a shoot-out.

Liverpool vs Tottenham same-game parlay (SGP)

Liverpool moneyline

Both teams to score

Liverpool Over 6.5 corners

Mo Salah anytime goal

The first two legs of this SGP are going to be our best bet for this game, which has to be split over two separate legs in this instance. For the third leg, we’re taking Liverpool to take Over 6.5 corners. In the Premier League, they’ve averaged 6.65 corners per game and given that they’re starting this game with a 1-0 deficit and need to attack Tottenham, we’re likely to see an increase in corners.

For the final leg we’re backing the man of the moment, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to score. The Egyptian has been in sensational form for his club this season. He’s scored 21 Premier League goals and added a further four in other competitions. He’s scored in three successive games heading into this matchup, including both goals in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over
