EPL predictions for Man City vs Tottenham

My best bet:
Man City to win the first half (-104 at TonyBet)

My analysis
The gloom around the Etihad has begun to subside with the news that Pep Guardiola has signed a new deal and will be at the club for at least one more season and potentially two. It’s the sort of news that can make a huge difference, especially considering the doubts surrounding his future and the team's 115 outstanding charges.

Man City hasn't looked the same without Rodri anchoring the midfield, but they're still stacked with superstars. Erling Haaland leads the Premier League goalscoring charts, while the return of Kevin De Bruyne could also help ignite them back to form.

One thing that has been consistent with this team in recent years is fast starts, particularly at home, where they’ve generally been incredibly dominant. Across the first 45 minutes of games this season, they’ve been winning at the interval seven times, scoring a massive 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Spurs have been losing in four of 11 games come the halfway mark and have been level in two more. Against a City team that features an in-form striker and a club who are buoyed by positivity around their talismanic manager, we could see trouble.

I expect a strong City start against a faltering Spurs, with the home side taking the lead into half.

Man City vs Tottenham same-game parlay (SGP)

Man City to win the first half

Both teams to score — Yes

Erling Haaland anytime goalscorer

In addition to our best bet, we’re also backing both teams to score. These are the two highest-scoring teams in the Premier League, with Spurs netting 23 times in 11 games and City one less in 22. While City have generally been winning most games, they’ve been far too open and have allowed their opposition to score in nine of 11 games.

We’ll also finish by backing Erling Haaland to score. He’s already on 12 goals in 11 Premier League games this season and is in red-hot form, scoring four goals in two games in the international break, including a hat-trick for Norway against Kazakhstan last time out.
