The two sides head into the weekend sitting 10th and 11th, respectively, level on points, and my Man United vs Tottenham prediction is for the Red Devils to put some distance between the two.

My analysis
Ahead of Sunday’s Man United vs Tottenham game, it’s hard to set the teams apart, with both clubs having similar campaigns so far this year. They’re both on seven points, with both having a pair of wins and defeats and a single draw. Tottenham head into the weekend ahead in the table purely on goal difference.
That isn’t where the similarities end, with managers Erik ten Hag and Ange Postecoglou both under some pressure. Ten Hag has been on the hot seat for a while, and though an FA Cup win last year earned him more time, that good will is disappearing quick after a poor start to the season.
The same can’t be said for Spurs, but Postecoglou has annoyed some fans with his comments about viewing the North London Derby the same as any other game, and his team failing to learn any lessons and playing naively at times.
For our best bet of this game we’re backing Man Utd to get the three points here. Despite being very inconsistent, there are a number of factors that should give Man Utd an advantage at Old Trafford. Firstly, they played their Europa League fixture a day earlier than Tottenham, with that extra 24 hours’ rest being helpful.
Then there’s Tottenham’s away form, which has been, frankly, terrible. They haven’t won a game away from home yet this season and have conceded 1.5 fouls per match. This isn’t a new thing for Tottenham.
Dating back to last season, they’ve got just one win with five defeats and two draws across their last eight fixtures. What’s worse is that they’ve lost four of those games by two or more goals. This is a team that seems to capitulate under pressure on the road.
Man United have generally had the better of this meeting in recent years. Across the past three seasons, we’ve seen Tottenham win once with two draws, and Man Utd winning three. At Old Trafford, we’ve seen real dominance, with United winning two of the last three, and the other a tie.
