Maddening inconsistency, soulless grounds in London, and a push for the Top 4 are things Tottenham and West Ham share in common. On Sunday, they'll share the pitch too as No. 6 and No. 7 in the Premier League table clash amid a tense fight outside the Top 3.

West Ham will make the trip across London to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with just three goals separating the two clubs, as the visitors find themselves just ahead of Sunday's hosts.

As the league season enters its home stretch, we bring you our free EPL betting picks and predictions for Tottenham vs. West Ham, with kickoff on March 20.

Tottenham vs West Ham predictions

Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.

Side analysis

While only a handful of goals separate Spurs and West Ham in the table at the moment, Tottenham are fairly heavy EPL betting favorites and rightfully so. With the exception of a terribly poor game against Burnley, after which manager Antonio Conte walked all the way up to the line of resigning, Spurs have looked like "the best of the rest" in the league under the Italian despite inconsistent results.

In Conte's 18 league games in charge, Spurs have won 10, drawn three, and lost five, with three of the losses coming against teams around them in Wolves, Chelsea, and Manchester United. Conte has maintained what was a strong defensive record under previous manager Nuno while reigniting what had become a lifeless attack.

Despite Conte not taking charge until November, Spurs have scored the sixth-most goals in the league and have perhaps been unlucky, with the fourth-most expected goals at 46.1. The stability Spurs have found at both ends of the pitch has shaken out at this stage, with Tottenham's expected goal difference of +13.9 fourth in the Prem and considerably better than fifth-place Arsenal (+7.9) — with West Ham trailing both at +3.9. In terms of balance and defensive stability, Tottenham have a clear edge.

In attack, on paper, it's more of a debate. West Ham have scored four goals more than Spurs (48-44) but have outproduced their xG by a considerable margin (40.0) while Spurs could be in line for positive regression (46.1 xG). Some of West Ham's production can be explained through their set-piece success, which would lead to goals with typically low xG marks. However, there's still considerable room for regression and that's made worse by an injury to Jarrod Bowen, who leads the team in goals, assists, xG, and is second in expected assists.

Tottenham are the better team in this current moment and have the benefit of playing at home on Sunday, while an emotional letdown for West Ham is a real possibility after a famous win over Sevilla late Thursday night. Take Spurs to earn all three points.

Prediction: Spurs (-149)

Over/Under analysis

While Conte has stabilized Spurs' backline, it's still a relatively talent-poor group that can be hit for goals — luckily, Tottenham have the skill going forward too. Since Conte took charge, Spurs' games have averaged 3.0 goals, with only his first game a 0-0 draw.

We're counting on another healthy dose of goals at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, because West Ham tend to find themselves in some back-and-forth affairs as well. In the 18 games West Ham have played since key centerback Angelo Ogbonna suffered a season-ending injury, their games have averaged 2.55 goals, with just a single scoreless draw as well.

Taking both teams' recent history into account, we're going Over on the 2.5 total.

Prediction: Over 2.5 (-137)

Best bet

After a slow start and all too many ugly performances, Harry Kane has started firing again for Spurs. The England striker has nine goals in his previous 10 games and four in the last three, as he begins to climb back toward the numbers that have become the norm for him.

When Kane is in form and scoring, he is as surefire when given a chance as any striker on Earth. Not only is Kane in form and scoring right now but he'll be up against a West Ham backline ill-equipped to handle the movement both he and Son Heung-min present.

At such good odds to score Sunday, back Kane to continue his good stretch.

Pick: Harry Kane anytime goal (+102)
