CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox rallied from a two-run deficit in the final two innings for a walk-off win against the New York Yankees.
Jose Abreu's two-run single off Dellin Betances gave the White Sox a 4-3 victory as the Yankees' bullpen imploded, spoiling a sensational outing from starter Luis Severino.
Yankees relievers Domingo German and Tyler Clippard each walked two batters in the eighth as the White Sox cut their deficit to 3-2.
In the ninth, Dellin Betances walked two and then hit Yolmer Sanchez, loading the bases with one out. After Melky Cabrera fouled out to shallow left, Abreu hit a ground ball through the hole on the left side of the infield for the victory.
White Sox southpaw Jose Quintana continued his scintillating June, throwing 6 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out six.
Severino was overpowering with a career-high 12 strikeouts and no walks in seven innings of one-run ball. However, but the Yankees trailed 1-0 with two outs in the top of the eighth before getting clutch hits from Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez.
Judge hit a single up the middle off White Sox reliever Tommy Kahnle for his 60th RBI, driving in pinch hitter Tyler Wade, who worked a walk in his first major league plate appearance.
With Judge on first and Jacoby Ellsbury on second, Gary Sanchez drilled the second pitch he saw from Kahnle to the right-center gap for a two-run double to put the Yankees ahead.
Severino struck out the side in both the second and seventh innings.
Dan Jennings (3-1) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win, while Betances (3-2) took the loss.
Jose Abreu sprayed an outside pitch from Severino down the right field line for a two-out, one-run double in the third, plating Kevan Smith to give the White Sox a 1-0 lead. It was the team-leading 19th double of the season for Abreu, who entered Tuesday hitting .373 in his last 16 contests. Smith singled to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a single by Yolmer Sanchez.
