ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Ricky Nolasco pitched his second consecutive gem, throwing a three-hitter as the Los Angeles Angels blanked the Seattle Mariners 4-0 on Saturday night.

Nolasco (4-9) struck out seven and only allowed one runner to reach second. The win came five days after he threw 6 1/3 shutout innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 3-0 victory, allowing five hits and snapping the team's streak of 17 games with a home run.

The 34-year-old right-hander came into the game against the Dodgers having lost seven straight decisions, and the Angels had lost in his last 10 starts.

It was the Angels' first complete game of the season and the 17th in the American League in 2017. It was Nolasco's 12th career complete game and sixth shutout.

Mariners starter Sam Gaviglio (5-4) allowed three runs, five hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings and retired 10 straight at one point.

Andrelton Simmons hit his ninth home run of the season in the second and Cameron Maybin singled in a run in the third.

The Angels added two runs in the seventh. Yunel Escobar delivered a leadoff single and after Seattle reliever Marc Rzepczynski entered with one out, Luis Valbuena doubled and Martin Maldonado walked to load the bases.

Rzepczynski threw a wild pitch, allowing Escobar to score, and Ben Revere grounded out to drive in Valbuena and make it 4-0.

The Angels packaged two hits and a steal into a run in the third for a 2-0 edge. Ben Revere lined a single to left and stole second -- his sixth stolen base of the season -- and scored on Maybin's single to center.

The first hit Nolasco allowed was a single by Nelson Cruz off the center-field wall in the second. Cruz tried to make it a double, but Maybin played the drive off the wall on one hop and threw a strike to second to erase Cruz.

Cruz left the game with right knee inflammation after his awkward slide into second.

Maybin had an adventurous day. Beside throwing Cruz out at second, he made a leaping catch against the right-field wall of a drive by Mitch Haniger. Two batters later, he made a sliding catch of a Carlos Ruiz sinking line drive. He also sprinted to make a catch on a Jarrod Dyson fly ball to end a two-on, two-out threat in the fifth.

NOTES: Angels RHP Bud Norris was activated from the disabled list after missing 11 games with right knee inflammation. ... 1B Jefrey Marte, RHP Brooks Pounders and LHP Jose Alvarez were optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake City. ... RHP Matt Shoemaker (6-3, 4.52 ERA) threw a bullpen session Saturday, his first since being put on the disabled list with a forearm strain. He will have at least one more bullpen before making a rehab start in the minors. ... 2B Nick Franklin made his first start for the Angels on Saturday, playing second base. He is hitting .195 this season in 53 games with Milwaukee.
