ST. LOUIS -- Tommy Pham reached base five times with three hits and two walks Monday night as the St. Louis Cardinals routed the Miami Marlins 14-6 at Busch Stadium.
Yadier Molina went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a sacrifice fly and three RBIs, one night after seeing his 16-game hitting streak end. Stephen Piscotty added two hits, two runs and an RBI as St. Louis (40-42) battered five Miami pitchers for 15 hits in winning for the seventh time in nine games.
Rookie Luke Voit capped the huge evening with his first major league homer, a two-run blast to center in the eighth that traveled 429 feet. Voit finished 2-for-5 with a game-high four RBIs.
Adam Wainwright (9-5) picked up the win despite giving up eight hits and six runs over five innings. He walked one and fanned eight, three of those against Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton.
Wainwright also kept an odd career trend going when he touched Miami starter Jeff Locke for a two-run single in the third. In his career against Locke, Wainwright is 6-for-13 with seven RBIs.
Locke (0-5) endured a night to forget, tying a career and franchise high by yielding 11 runs in 2 2/3 innings. Locke allowed 11 hits, walked four and whiffed two.
The Marlins fell to 36-45 despite a three-hit game from catcher J.T. Realmuto.
St. Louis established a season high for first-inning runs by scoring four. Pham tripled home Matt Carpenter, then came home on Piscotty's single. Molina's sacrifice fly made it 3-0 and Voit capped the rally with an infield out that scored Jedd Gyorko.
The Cardinals then tied their season high for runs in an inning with seven in the third. Voit doubled home Gyorko, while Wainwright laced a two-run single and Carpenter lofted a sacrifice fly.
Batting for the second time in the inning, Gyorko drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 9-0. Molina tacked on a two-run double off the top of the right-center field wall to finish off the frame.
Miami pounded Wainwright for six fifth-inning runs, although he did finish the inning to become eligible for a win. Pinch-hitter Tyler Moore lined a two-run single, Marcell Ozuna laced a three-run double to right and Justin Bour ripped an RBI double.
NOTES: St. Louis recalled RHP Luke Weaver from Triple-A Memphis and optioned RHP Mike Mayers to Memphis. Weaver is 7-1 with a 1.93 in 11 starts for the Redbirds, but will pitch out of the bullpen with the Cardinals. ... Miami OF Marcell Ozuna's two-homer performance Sunday in Milwaukee marked his third of the year. Only the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger (6) and the Mets' Jay Bruce (4) own more multi-homer games. ... St. Louis 3B Jedd Gyorko left the game in the bottom of the fifth for PH Alex Mejia, suffering from a cramp in his left leg. Gyorko went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
