NEW YORK -- Ben Lively was a one-man wrecking crew on Tuesday night, pitching seven strong innings and aiding his own cause by delivering two hits -- including a two-run homer -- and four RBIs as the Philadelphia Phillies routed the New York Mets 9-1 at Citi Field.
The Phillies (53-85) have won four of six. The Mets (59-79) have lost five of six.
Lively (3-5) allowed one run, four hits and three walks while striking out four in his longest start in the majors since June 13.
He was particularly impressive at the plate, where he capped a three-run second inning with a two-run single and sparked a six-run fourth with a mammoth two-run homer to center field.
Lively has made just 10 starts this season but ranks third among pitchers in RBIs (eight) and is one of just four with at least two homers. He also went deep against the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 24.
Odubel Herrera (RBI single) and Nick Williams (three-run double) also had run-scoring hits in the fourth inning. Herrera's hit extended his hitting streak to 19 games.
Freddy Galvis and Jorge Alfaro had three hits apiece, and Williams, Rhys Hoskins and Hyun Soo Kim each added two hits.
Top Phillies prospect J.P. Crawford, who was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley earlier in the day, went 1-for-5 in his major league debut.
Travis d'Arnaud had two hits for the Mets, including an RBI double in the first inning. Asdrubal Cabrera also had two hits.
Mets ace right-hander Jacob deGrom (14-9) took the loss after allowing nine runs (six earned), 10 hits and two walks while striking out five in a season-low 3 2/3 innings. The nine runs allowed were a career high for deGrom.
DeGrom struck out the side in the first before the Mets took a brief lead in the bottom of the inning, when Nori Aoki doubled with one out and scored on d'Arnaud's double.
An error by Dominic Smith led to three unearned runs in the top of the second, when Williams scored from second after Smith threw wide of the bag trying to force Kim on Crawford's grounder. Lively laced a two-run single two batters later.
The Phillies chased deGrom by scoring six runs, all with two outs, in the fourth. The last six batters to face deGrom all reached base, with Lively crushing a two-run homer and Herrera lacing an RBI single. Williams greeted Josh Smoker with a three-run double.
