Joey Votto hit a two-run, go-ahead double in a three-run seventh inning as the Cincinnati Reds rallied for a 6-5 victory Tuesday over the host Los Angeles Dodgers.
Jesse Winker hit a home run on the first pitch of the game and added an RBI single as the Reds won consecutive games following a seven-game losing streak. Cincinnati can sweep the three-game series Wednesday afternoon.
Winker had three hits for his 10th multi-hit game of the season, and he homered for the third straight contest.
Will Smith had a three-run home run for the Dodgers and Matt Beaty added a two-run single. Los Angeles lost for the seventh time in the past nine games and fell to 1-5 on a seven-game homestand. Los Angeles is on its first three-game losing streak since Aug. 29-31, 2019.
Dodgers starter Walker Buehler struck out 10 and pitched 6 1/3 innings but gave up five runs as the Reds rallied late.
Buehler served up an RBI single to Kyle Farmer in the seventh inning as the Reds pulled to within 5-4. Four batters later, Votto hit his two-run double to right off Dodgers left-hander Scott Alexander (0-2).
Winker jumped on Buehler's 95 mph fastball to open the game, hitting his sixth home run of the season and his second in two at-bats after hitting a go-ahead two-run shot in the 10th inning of Cincinnati's 5-3 victory on Monday.
Smith's home run in the fourth inning, his third, also was the Dodgers' first hit of the game against Reds right-hander Jeff Hoffman. It followed walks to Justin Turner and Max Muncy.
The Reds answered quickly. Tucker Barnhart was hit by a pitch and Farmer doubled to open the fifth. Tyler Stephenson hit a groundout to shortstop, scoring Barnhart, and Winker tied the score 3-all with an RBI single.
The Dodgers went ahead 5-3 in the sixth on Beaty's first two RBIs of the season before Farmer and Votto came through for the Reds in the seventh.
Hoffman lasted just four innings for the Reds, giving up three runs on just one hit with five walks and three strikeouts. Right-hander Ryan Hendrix (1-0) recorded one out to pick up his first career victory. Sean Doolittle pitched the ninth inning for his first save.
