Jacob Stallings' two-out grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday gave the Pittsburgh Pirates a 9-7 walk-off win over the visiting New York Mets.
With the Mets leading 7-5, reliever Edwin Diaz (3-4) hit Ke'Bryan Hayes and walked Bryan Reynolds. After Ben Gamel struck out, John Nogowski's infield single loaded the bases.
Gregory Polanco struck out, but Stallings hit his eighth homer of the season, a shot to left field, to end it.
Wilmer Difo also homered and Nogowski hit an RBI double for the Pirates, who came back from a six-run deficit.
Pittsburgh starter Wil Crowe pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up four runs and six hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.
Clay Holmes (3-2) gave up one run in the top of the ninth, a home run to Brandon Nimmo.
J.D. Davis homered twice, Travis Blankenhorn added an RBI double and Jeff McNeil an RBI single for the Mets.
New York starter Tylor Megill pitched six scoreless innings, allowing six hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.
McNeil opened the fourth with a walk, and then Davis' third homer of the season, to center field, gave New York a 2-0 lead.
In the sixth, Pete Alonso led off with a leadoff single. After McNeil flied out, Davis homered to right to increase the lead to 4-0.
In the seventh, Luis Guillorme reached when Hayes, at third, booted the ball. Blankenhorn, just recalled and pinch-hitting for Megill, doubled to drive in Guillorme for his first big league RBI and make it 5-0.
Nimmo walked. Alonso hit into what was first ruled a double play, but he was safe at first upon a Mets challenge, with Blankenhorn going to third. McNeil's single brought Blankenhorn home for a 6-0 edge.
In the eighth against Seth Lugo, Reynolds walked, went to second on Gamel's single and scored on Nogowski's double to cut it to 6-1. Gamel later scored on Kevin Newman's fielder's choice grounder. Difo followed with a three-run pinch-hit homer to right, his third of the season, to close it to 6-5.
Nimmo's second homer of the season pushed it to 7-5.
