Omar Narvaez hit a two-run homer and a two-run single, Brett Anderson pitched six scoreless innings and the visiting Milwaukee Brewers throttled the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-0 on Tuesday.
Anderson (3-5) gave up three hits and one walk while striking out three. He combined with relievers Miguel Sanchez, Hunter Strickland and Jandel Gustave on a four-hit shutout.
Rowdy Tellez added a solo homer and a two-run single, Avisail Garcia an RBI double and Lorenzo Cain an RBI single for the Brewers, who took an 8-0 lead through two innings. They have won three of their past four games.
The Pirates have lost two in a row and six of eight.
Pittsburgh right-hander Luis Oviedo made his first major league start on short notice, as Tyler Anderson was scratched pending a reported trade to the Philadelphia Phillies.
It was not memorable in a good way for Oviedo (1-2), who had made 12 appearances out of the bullpen. He pitched one-plus innings, giving up eight runs, six of them earned, on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
With one out in the Milwaukee first, Willy Adames reached on shortstop Kevin Newman's error. Narvaez followed with his ninth homer, a shot to right, for a 2-0 lead.
Garcia and Tellez drew back-to-back walks before Luis Urias struck out. Cain, in his first game back off the injured list, hit a flare to shallow right-center to drive in Garcia to make it 3-0.
Cain had been out since June 1 due to a hamstring injury.
Anderson drew a walk to open the second and went to second when Oviedo hit Kolten Wong with a pitch. Adames singled to left to load the bases.
Narvaez drove in Anderson and Wong with a base hit to right. Garcia followed with an RBI double off the wall in center to make it 6-0 and chase Oviedo.
Nick Mears entered and gave up Tellez's two-run single up the middle for an 8-0 Brewers lead before getting out of the inning.
Tellez lofted his seventh homer, to right with two outs in the ninth, to make it 9-0.
