San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford couldn't handle Matt Chapman's high chopper with two outs in the 10th inning Sunday afternoon, allowing Marcus Semien to score from second base and give the host Oakland Athletics a second straight extra-inning win in the Bay Bridge Series, 6-5.
The victory came hours after Oakland scored a 4-3, 11-inning victory on Saturday night and gave the A's two wins in each of the three-game series played leading into the All-Star break in San Francisco and coming out of the break in Oakland.
Semien led off the 10th with a walk off the fourth Giants pitcher, left-hander Ty Blach (6-6), and took second on Stephen Piscotty's fly ball to the fence in center field.
After Khris Davis was intentionally walked, Blach got Matt Olson to pop up for a second out before Chapman hit what appeared to be a routine chopper to Crawford.
However, the All-Star had the ball carom off his glove as he charged to make a hurried play, and when the ball rolled into center field, Semien scored without a throw.
Jeurys Familia (1-0), making his A's debut after having been acquired in a trade Saturday, earned the win with two innings of shutout relief.
Both teams rallied from late deficits to take a 5-5 tie into the ninth inning.
Powered by a two-run home run from Davis and two solo shots from Olson, the A's led 4-1 going into the seventh, with Oakland starter Sean Manaea working on a three-hitter.
However, with two outs in the top of the seventh and Nick Hundley aboard via a single, A's manager Bob Melvin pulled his left-hander in favor of Emilio Pagan, who gave up a single to Austin Slater.
With the tying run at the plate, Melvin called upon Lou Trivino, but two batters later, the Giants had tied the game following a two-run, pinch-hit double by Pablo Sandoval and an RBI single by pinch hitter Alen Hanson.
The Giants took a 5-4 lead in the eighth on Andrew McCutchen's one-out solo homer, his 10th of the season, off Yusmeiro Petit.
The A's got that run back with their fourth homer of the game, the second by Davis, a one-out solo shot off Mark Melancon in the bottom of the eighth.
Neither starter got a decision.
In extending his streak of starts without a loss to nine, Manaea was charged with two runs on four hits in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out five and did not walk a batter.
The Giants' Johnny Cueto, meanwhile, went seven innings in search of his first win since April. He allowed four runs and six hits while walking two and striking out three.
The two-homer games were the fourth of the season for Davis, who now has 23 for the season, and the second for Olson, who raised his total to 21.
Chapman had two hits for Oakland, which has won 23 of its last 30 games.
Slater collected three hits and Hundley chipped in with two hits and two runs scored for the Giants, who fell to 5-8 in interleague play.
The Giants out-hit the A's 9-8.
