Rookie Andy Pages capped his first career four-hit performance with a game-ending single in the 11th inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers walked away with a 4-3 victory over the visiting Atlanta Braves on Friday in the opener of a three-game series.
Teoscar Hernandez hit a home run, Shohei Ohtani drove in a run in the 10th and Gavin Stone went five strong innings as the Dodgers improved to 8-2 since going 3-6 on their previous homestand while losing all three series. Michael Grove (1-1) picked up the win for the Dodgers with a scoreless 11th.
Austin Riley and Ronald Acuna Jr. hit home runs and right-hander Charlie Morton gave up two runs on five hits over six innings as the Braves lost for the fourth time in their last six games and fell to 1-3 on a six-game West Coast road trip.
With automatic runner Will Smith at second base for the Dodgers in the 11th, the Braves walked Max Muncy intentionally before Hernandez grounded into a fielder's choice. Pages won it on a full-count bloop hit to center.
The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the first when Riley continued his career-long success against the Dodgers with a home run deep to center field. Riley entered with a .303 batting average in 17 career games against Los Angeles.
The Dodgers tied it in the third when Ohtani walked, stole second and scored on a single from Will Smith to give him 25 RBIs, second among National League catchers.
Hernandez put the Dodgers up 2-1 in the fourth on his seventh home run of the season and the first at home since April 12.
The Braves tied it 2-2 in the eighth on Acuna's solo shot off right-hander Daniel Hudson. It was Acuna's fourth home run in his last five regular-season games at Los Angeles but just his second overall this season.
The Braves nearly went ahead in the top of the ninth but Marcell Ozuna filed out to the wall in left-center against right-hander Evan Phillips.
The Braves scored a run in the 10th on Orlando Arcia's sacrifice fly before the Dodgers continued the game with Ohtani's RBI hit.
