Dylan Moore homered twice and drove in four runs, Bryan Woo pitched six scoreless innings and the visiting Seattle Mariners recorded a 6-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night.
Moore hit a two-run homer in the third inning off New York starter Clarke Schmidt (5-2), smacked a solo shot in the ninth and had an RBI single in the seventh for the Mariners, who have won three of their past four games. Ty France contributed a solo homer a night after singling in the go-ahead run in the ninth in a 5-4 victory over the Yankees.
It was Moore's third career multi-homer game.
Seattle's Luke Raley had a leadoff home run in the eighth after Trent Thornton allowed a three-run homer by Gleyber Torres that cut the Mariners' lead to 4-3 in the seventh.
Woo (2-0) made his third start of the season after missing the beginning of the year due to right elbow inflammation. He held the Yankees to two hits -- a single by Austin Wells in the second and a double by Alex Verdugo in the fourth.
In his longest outing of 2024, Woo struck out seven and didn't issue a walk, highlighting a 77-pitch performance by fanning Juan Soto twice.
Woo was aided by two stellar catches from right fielder Dominic Canzone. Canzone made a diving catch on Anthony Volpe to open the bottom of the first and then made a diving play on Oswaldo Cabrera to open the third.
After Thornton allowed Torres' homer, Ryne Stanek came on for the eighth and retired Soto and Aaron Judge with a runner on to end the frame. Andres Munoz stranded two in the ninth for his 10th save.
Schmidt allowed two runs on four hits in five innings. The right-hander struck out six and walked two.
New York lost consecutive games for the first time since April 29-30 in Baltimore.
