Colorado Rockies vs Milwaukee Brewers Match Player Stats On May 02, 2019

Mark Reynolds hit a three-run double in the first inning to help the visiting Colorado Rockies to a big early lead and they cruised to an 11-6 win against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday afternoon.

Nolan Arenado, David Dahl and Raimel Tapia each homered and finished with three hits for Colorado, which earned a split by winning the last two games of the four-game series.

Mike Moustakas and Ryan Braun each had two hits and two RBIs for the Brewers, who played without 2018 NL Most Valuable Player Christian Yelich for a fourth straight game because of lower back discomfort.

Rockies right-hander Jon Gray (3-3) went 5 2/3 innings, allowing five runs and seven hits while striking out nine and walking two.

Gray brought a 7-0 lead into the third inning before giving up three runs after two were out.

Lorenzo Cain swung at an outside pitch and doubled down the first-base line to drive in the first run, and Moustakas followed with a two-run single to center to trim the lead to 7-3.

Dahl got two of those runs back with an opposite-field homer in the fourth to make it 9-3.

Braun twice cut the deficit to five with a solo homer in the fourth and an RBI single in the sixth.

Tapia homered in the ninth to stretch the lead to 11-5.

The Rockies scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second off Brewers starter Freddy Peralta (1-1), who was coming off a 10-day stay on the injured list because of a sore shoulder.

Peralta went four innings in his first start since April 15, allowing nine runs (six earned) and eight hits, striking out three and walking three.

Reynolds highlighted the first inning with his bases-clearing double to deep right for a 3-0 lead.

Peralta nearly got out of the second inning unscathed, but shortstop Orlando Arcia made a two-out error and Dahl followed with an RBI double.

Arenado then stepped up and lofted his home run to left for a 7-0 lead.
