Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles Match Player Stats On May 03, 2019

Tyler Glasnow pitched seven innings, Mike Zunino hit a three-run homer and the visiting Tampa Bay Rays beat the Baltimore Orioles 7-0 in the opener of a three-game series.

Glasnow, the American League pitcher of the month for April, improved to 6-0 while allowing three hits and striking out eight without a walk.

The 25-year-old lowered his American League-leading ERA to 1.47 as the AL East leaders topped the last-place Orioles. Glasnow matched his longest outing of the season.

Casey Sadler tossed two innings to complete the shutout.

All five Baltimore hits were singles and the Orioles didn't get a runner to second base.

Tommy Pham had three hits and drove in two runs for the Rays, and Brandon Lowe, Avisail Garcia and Willy Adames each had two hits. The Rays totaled 12 hits and six walks.

Dwight Smith Jr. had two hits for the Orioles.

Baltimore starter Dan Straily (1-2) lasted 4 1/3 innings and allowed five runs on nine hits and three walks. He had pitched to a 2.57 ERA in his previous three starts.

Orioles reliever Yefry Ramirez allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings and struck out five.

The Rays led 1-0 after two batters. Brandon Lowe doubled to center and Pham followed with a check-swing double down the right-field line.

Tampa Bay broke it open with a four-run fourth.

Nate Lowe and Garcia opened the inning with singles and, with one out, Zunino homered to left center on a first-pitch slider from Straily. After two hits and a walk loaded the bases, Ji-Man Choi lifted a sacrifice fly to right.

In the sixth, Pham singled home a run and Nate Lowe added a sacrifice fly to make it 7-0.
