Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit two homers and drove in four and the visiting Toronto Blue Jays finished with five home runs Thursday night in an 11-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in the opener of a four-game series.
Guerrero hit a two-run homer and a solo shot and also added an RBI double. He went 3-for-5 with those four RBIs in the second multi-homer game of his brief career.
Danny Jansen, Randal Grichuk and Billy McKinney each added homers as Toronto extended its winning streak to four games.
Jansen belted a three-run homer while McKinney hit a two-run shot and Grichuk cleared the fence with the bases empty.
Trent Thornton (4-7) earned the victory with six strong innings after being activated from the injured list before the game. The right-hander was placed there on July 22 with right elbow inflammation.
Thornton allowed one run on five hits, with two strikeouts and no walks.
Baltimore starter Asher Wojciechowski (2-4) had given the Orioles two great starts in his previous two outings but didn't have it this time. The right-hander allowed four runs on six hits -- including two homers -- in 4 2/3 innings.
The Jays took a 2-0 lead on a Guerrero homer to center in the top of the third. Baltimore center fielder Stevie Wilkerson jumped at the fence and tried to snag the ball but it sailed over his glove.
Bo Bichette, still in his first week in the major, added an RBI single in the fourth for a 3-0 lead before Grichuk homered in the fifth.
Baltimore scored a run on a Jonathan Villar groundout in the fifth before Toronto broke it open with four runs off Jimmy Yacabonis in the sixth. Jansen got his three-run homer and Guerrero added his run-scoring double to give the Jays an 8-1 lead.
Guerrero made it 9-1 with a solo shot to left that went 450 feet in the top of the eighth inning. Trey Mancini answered with a solo homer for Baltimore in the bottom half before McKinney added his two-run blast in the ninth.
