Michael Brantley socked a two-run homer with one out in the 13th inning as the host Houston Astros erased a seven-run deficit in their walk-off 11-9 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Thursday night.
Brantley, who drove in Jose Altuve for the game-tying run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, brought home Jake Marisnick with his blast to right-center field off Matt Wisler (3-4).
Josh James (5-0) earned the win for the Astros, who improved to 13-1 against the Mariners this season.
Each team scored in the 12th inning. Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager socked his second homer of the game with one out off James, his 21st home run of the season, going the opposite way to left field and providing Seattle a 9-8 lead.
But with two outs and facing a 1-2 count in the bottom of the 12th, the Astros' Kyle Tucker dumped an RBI single into right field, scoring pinch runner Myles Straw to tie the game.
Austin Nola, the third of six consecutive batters to reach safely in the first inning off Astros left-hander Wade Miley, doubled in two runs. Miley left the game before recording an out.
Nola later added home runs against Astros right-handers Cy Sneed and Jose Urquidy, improving his rookie season total to nine.
After Nola's two-run double, Seager added his 20th home run, reaching that benchmark for an eighth consecutive season -- a Mariners record. Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martinez and Jay Buhner are the only other Mariners with at least eight seasons of 20-plus homers.
After Tom Murphy singled and Daniel Vogelbach walked, Sneed replaced Miley. Jake Fraley added a run-scoring single two batters later to extend the Seattle lead to 5-0 before the Astros even came to bat.
Nola's two-run homer off Sneed in the second raised the Mariners' lead to 7-0.
Houston began its climb back into contention in the bottom of the second when Yordan Alvarez scored on a wild pitch by Mariners starter Marco Gonzales.
An inning later, Alex Bregman laced a two-run double to left-center field, scoring Josh Reddick and Altuve.
In the sixth, Tucker hit Gonzalez's first pitch for a home run to right field, his first home run of the season. One out later, Reddick clubbed his first home run since June 28 to chase Gonzales and cut the deficit to 7-5.
Gonzalez surrendered five runs (four earned) on seven hits and five walks without recording a strikeout over 5 1/3 innings.
In the eighth, Altuve tripled home Robinson Chirinos and Reddick before scoring on Brantley's sacrifice fly to tie the game.
Miley was charged with five runs on five hits and a walk. His ERA rose from 3.06 to 3.35.
