Chicago @ Milwaukee preview

Miller Park

Last Meeting ( Apr 19, 2013 ) Chi. Cubs 4, Milwaukee 5

The Milwaukee Brewers have slugged their way to a five-game winning streak, and they'll try to keep it going when they continue a three-game home series against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. The Brewers have hit 11 home runs during the streak - they had five homers in their first 10 contests - including two in a series-opening 5-4 win Friday night.

The Cubs hit three home runs of their own Friday, matching a season high, but they still lost for the fourth time in five games. Three of those defeats have come in one-run games. Thirteen of Chicago's 15 games have been decided by three runs or fewer. Milwaukee's winning streak is its longest since claiming six straight from Sept. 15-21 last season.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs RH Edwin Jackson (0-2, 6.06 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Hiram Burgos (NR)

Jackson has been the weak link in a surprisingly strong rotation thus far. He has failed to record a quality start and left-handed batters are hitting .333 against him. Jackson didn't get a decision in his last outing, in which he allowed five runs (four earned) over 5 1/3 innings against San Francisco. He is 3-3 with a 3.57 ERA in eight starts against the Brewers, including a 2-1 mark at Miller Park.

Burgos, the team's reigning Minor League Pitcher of the Year, is set to make his major-league debut as the Brewers need a fifth starter for the first time since April 6. Burgos was 0-2 with a 2.70 ERA in three starts at Triple-A Nashville this season after quickly moving through the Brewers' system last year, going 10-4 with a 1.95 ERA at three stops.

WALK-OFFS

1. Brewers LF Ryan Braun and Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo each have homered in consecutive games.

2. Cubs SS Starlin Castro is batting .347 during an 11-game hitting streak.

3. Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is 5-for-14 with one homer and Braun is 7-for-22 with five doubles against Jackson.

PREDICTION: Cubs 7, Brewers 5

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
