Arizona @ Milwaukee preview
Miller Park
Last Meeting ( Apr 6, 2013 ) Arizona 9, Milwaukee 2
While Yovani Gallardo pitches in relative obscurity for Milwaukee, his 69-43 career record speaks of a better-than-average pitcher. He gets even tougher when he faces Arizona. Milwaukee's ace will try to improve his career record to 8-0 - counting postseason play - against the Diamondbacks and help the Brewers snap a four-game losing streak when they host Arizona on Sunday in the finale of their three-game series. The Diamondbacks had three home runs among 16 hits in Saturday's 9-2 victory.
Gallardo will also be in position to help pick up Milwaukee's injury-depleted offense as third baseman Aramis Ramirez was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday after suffering a sprained left knee on Friday. The Brewers could also again be without slugger Ryan Braun, who missed his second straight game Saturday because of neck spasms. The Diamondbacks have no such problems, and have won three straight while scoring 29 runs in their first five games.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Ian Kennedy (1-0, 2.57) vs. Brewers RH Yovani Gallardo (0-0, 5.40)
Kennedy was sharp on Opening Day, allowing two runs and five hits while striking out eight in seven innings in Arizona's 6-2 victory over St. Louis on Monday. Five of the strikeouts came via his change-up, which complements his 90 mph average fastball. The 28-year-old Huntington Beach, Calif., native is 22-19 with a 4.05 ERA on the road in his career. Kennedy is 2-2, 3.03 in five career starts against the Brewers, including 1-1 last season.
Gallardo is 6-0 with a 1.02 ERA in seven regular-season starts against Arizona. The 27-year-old Mexican also started twice against Arizona in their 2011 NL Division Series, recording a victory and a no-decision while allowing two runs in 14 innings as Milwaukee won both games en route to its series win. Gallardo, though, wasn't particular sharp on Opening Day when he yielded three runs and 10 hits in five innings against Colorado on Monday.
WALK-OFFS

2. The official scorer in Milwaukee on Saturday changed Mike Gonzalez's wild pitch to a passed ball by Jonathan Lucroy, which allowed two runs to score in Arizona's 3-1 victory on Friday.
3. Brewers OF Khris Davis, who took Braun's spot in left field the past two games, recorded his first major-league hit - a double - on Saturday.
PREDICTION: Brewers 3, Diamondbacks 2
