Miami @ Philadelphia preview
Citizens Bank Park
Last Meeting ( May 3, 2013 ) Miami 1, Philadelphia 4
The Philadelphia Phillies had high expectations when they cleared a spot in the outfield for Domonic Brown and the 25-year-old is not disappointing. Brown has homered in two straight games as the Phillies try to continue their home dominance over the Miami Marlins on Saturday. Brown, who got off to slow start, is 13-for-34 in his last eight games to raise his average to .268 as he plays his first season as a full-time starter after logging 433 at-bats in the previous three years.
The Phillies have won five straight and 18 of the last 24 meetings with the Marlins at home. Cole Hamels, who won his first game of the season in his last start, will try to improve on his 8-10 career record against Miami. He will oppose 20-year-old rookie Jose Hernandez for the second time this season. Neither was around for the decision in the Marlins' 2-1 victory April 13. Miami has lost three straight after compiling its only winning streak of the season - a three-game run.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Jose Fernandez (0-2, 4.50 ERA) vs. Phillies LH Cole Hamels (1-3, 4.78)
Fernandez has not thrown more than 85 pitches in his five starts. The Cuban allowed two runs and three hits over four innings in his last outing, a 4-3 victory over the New York Mets on Wednesday. He has been hit hard in his last two road starts - nine runs and 12 hits in nine innings in a pair of losses. Fernandez pitched six scoreless innings and limited the Phillies to two hits in the longest outing of his career.
Hamels allowed one run, two hits and struck out eight, but walked six in six innings in Philadelphia's 5-1 victory over the Mets in New York on Sunday. It was the fourth straight quality start for Hamels, who allowed seven runs while striking out 27 in 27 innings and lowering his ERA from 10.97 during that span. Hamels won't have to worry about facing Giancarlo Stanton or Casey Kotchman (disabled list), who have combined for five homers in 44 at-bats against him.
