Coors Field

Last Meeting ( Apr 23, 2013 ) Atlanta 10, Colorado 2

The Atlanta Braves have unleashed an awesome display of power with 35 home runs - most in the majors - en route to their major league-best 15-5 start, and even a cold Coors didn't dull their senses. Atlanta will try for a three-game sweep when it visits the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday in the finale of their three-game series. The Braves hit a combined six homers in their 4-3 and 10-2 victories in Tuesday's doubleheader, including the opener played in a Coors Field-record 23 degrees.

Leading the assault is Justin Upton, who has a major league-leading 11 home runs and set an Atlanta franchise record for homers in April. Justin Upton and his brother B.J. hit back-to-back home runs for the first time in Tuesday's nightcap. The Braves' Tim Hudson will make his second attempt at career victory No. 200 on Wednesday, although he is 0-2 with an 8.04 ERA in five career starts in Denver. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a temperature of 50 degrees.

PITCHING MATCHUP:
Braves RH Tim Hudson (2-1, 4.50 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Tyler Chatwood (NR)

Hudson allowed six runs and nine hits in four innings in Atlanta's 6-0 loss at Pittsburgh on Friday. In his previous two starts - both victories, the 37-year-old yielded two runs and seven hits with 10 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings. While Hudson has struggled in Denver, he is 5-2 in 10 career starts against the Rockies. Colorado's roster is hitting an eye-popping .385 against Hudson, but he has handled Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez (combined 6-for-22, one RBI).

Rockies manager Walt Weiss decided Tuesday that Chatwood would move into the rotation to replace Jhoulys Chacin, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a strained lower back. Chatwood was scratched from his start Monday at Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he was 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA and 17 strikeouts in three starts (14 2/3 innings). The 23-year-old Fontana, Calif., native was 5-6 in 19 games (12 starts) with a 5.43 ERA with Colorado in 2012.

WALK-OFFS

1. Atlanta RF Reed Johnson went 4-for-4 with three doubles in his first start in place of Jason Heyward, who was put on the 15-day disabled list after undergoing an appendectomy Monday.

2. Rockies 1B Todd Helton has missed the last four games with a strained left forearm and could be headed for the disabled list.

3. The Uptons became the second brothers in major-league history to hit back-to-back homers. Pittsburgh's Lloyd and Paul Waner accomplished the feat Sept. 15, 1938.

PREDICTION:
Braves 9, Rockies 8

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
