Colorado @ Los Angeles preview
Dodger Stadium
Last Meeting ( Apr 30, 2013 ) Colorado 2, LA Dodgers 6
Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is expected to rejoin Colorado's lineup when the Rockies visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday in the rubber match of their three-game series. Tulowitzki missed the last two games after leaving Sunday's contest in Arizona when he suffered a shoulder strain while sliding awkwardly into home plate. Tulowitzki, who played only 47 games in 2012 because of a groin injury, is off to a solid start with a .308 batting average, six home runs and 22 RBIs.
The Dodgers bounced back from Monday's 12-2 defeat with a 6-2 victory Tuesday behind rookie Hyun-Jin Ryu's career-best 12 strikeouts and his first career RBI. Los Angeles also welcomed the return of shortstop Hanley Ramirez to the starting lineup and he produced a home run on his Bobblehead Night. The Dodgers' Josh Beckett, who is winless in five starts, faces Juan Nicasio. Beckett is 2-6 in 12 starts since coming to the Dodgers in the blockbuster trade with Boston in August, with his last victory coming Sept. 30 against Colorado.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Juan Nicasio (3-0, 4.62 ERA) vs. Dodgers RH Josh Beckett (0-3, 4.75)
Nicasio hit 97 mph on the radar gun in his last start, a 6-3 victory at Arizona on Friday when he yielded three runs (one earned) in five innings. The 26-year-old Dominican Republic native has struggled with his command and hasn't pitched past the fifth inning in four of his five starts while averaging 93.4 pitches. Nicasio is 1-2 with a 4.97 ERA in five starts against the Dodgers, including a 6-2 loss June 2 when he left after 1 2/3 innings with a season-ending knee injury.
Beckett has struggled to keep the ball in the park, allowing eight home runs - second-most in the National League - in 30 1/3 innings. The 32-year-old Spring, Texas, native yielded two for the second straight game in a 7-5 victory over Milwaukee on Friday, but was not around for the decision. The Dodgers had scored seven runs in Beckett's first four starts. Beckett is 5-2 with a 3.70 ERA against Colorado, including 1-1 last season. He has struggled with Yorvit Torrealba (6-for-13).
