Last Meeting ( Oct 1, 2012 ) Colorado 7, Arizona 5

The Colorado Rockies attempt to post consecutive road wins for the first time since late August when they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in the middle game of their season-ending three-game series on Tuesday. Colorado snapped a nine-game road losing streak with a 13-inning victory in Monday's series opener. Chris Nelson snapped a 3-3 tie with an RBI single, one of his three hits on the night.

Charlie Blackmon collected four hits and an RBI for the Rockies, who haven't won back-to-back games on the road since sweeping a four-game series in New York from Aug. 20-23. Wilin Rosario added a solo homer as Colorado (63-97) avoided the first 100-loss season in franchise history. Arizona has lost four of its last six contests. Gerardo Parra hit his first home run since June 19, ending his 70-game drought.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Jhoulys Chacin (3-5, 4.78 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks LH Patrick Corbin (6-8, 4.77)

Chacin is coming off a victory over Chicago on Thursday in which he allowed three runs over five innings. The 24-year-old Venezuelan had gone 0-1 in his previous four starts despite yielding three runs or less on three occasions. Chacin, who has given up fewer than four runs in seven of his last eight outings, is 3-2 with a 3.11 ERA in nine career games against Arizona - including two starts this season.

Corbin has lasted only three innings in each of his last two starts, surrendering a total of 11 runs and 16 hits in those outings. The 23-year-old, who has lost four of his last five decisions, was tagged for six runs and seven hits in a setback at San Francisco on Thursday. Corbin was hit hard by Colorado in two previous meetings this season, yielding 11 runs and 18 hits over nine frames while posting an 0-1 record.

WALK-OFFS

1. Arizona 1B Paul Goldschmidt returned from a three-game absence because of a sore back and extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a one-out, game-tying solo home run in the ninth inning.

2. Rosario's homer was his 28th of the season, tops among major-league catchers. He trails Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels by two for the rookie lead.

3. Diamondbacks LHP Wade Miley struck out the side on nine pitches in the third inning Monday. He joined Randy Johnson and Byung-Hyun Kim as the only Arizona pitchers to accomplish the feat.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
