San Francisco has won six straight home games and seven consecutive meetings with Colorado, matching its longest winning streak against the Rockies. TV: 3:45 p.m. ET, Root Sports (Colorado), CSN Bay Area (San Francisco)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies LH Drew Pomeranz (1-1, 5.68 ERA) vs. Giants RH Matt Cain (12-11, 2.88 ERA).

Pomeranz will be making his fourth career start. The 22-year old allowed two runs in 10 2/3 innings over his first two outings before yielding six in just two frames at Houston on Friday for his first loss. Pomeranz settled for a no-decision against the Giants on Sept. 17 after surrendering two runs in 5 2/3 innings.

Cain is coming off a loss at Arizona on Friday in which he allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings. The 26-year old has given up three earned runs or fewer in each of his last 10 starts and 14 of 15. Cain already has faced Colorado four times this season, going 2-1 with a 4.94 ERA.

ABOUT THE ROCKIES (72-89): Colorado recorded two of its three hits Tuesday in the second inning as Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a leadoff double and Jordan Pacheco followed with a single that put runners on the corners. But the Rockies failed to cash in as Ty Wigginton, Wilin Rosario and Tommy Field all struck out against Madison Bumgarner. Manager Jim Tracy said before Tuesday's game that his entire coaching staff will be back next year. Among those returning are hitting coach Carney Lansford, pitching coach Bob Apodaca and bench coach Tom Runnells.

ABOUT THE GIANTS (86-75): San Francisco has outscored its opponents 32-8 during its home winning streak. Brandon Belt's homer into McCovey Cove in the fourth inning Tuesday was the 84th "splash hit" at AT&T Park and the 60th by a Giant. Barry Bonds has 35 "splash hits" to his credit. Bumgarner posted a 0.54 ERA while winning his last five starts at AT&T Park this season.

FINAL PITCH: "I don't know what's going to happen after this year. Obviously, if there was something at stake, like the playoffs, I wouldn't ask. Now that we're kind of out of it, I politicked my way into it. ... I just want to play. My foot's not really better, but it's one game. I appreciate the chance." - San Francisco's Pat Burrell on starting in what could be his final major-league game Wednesday despite a strained right foot.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
