Last Meeting ( Sep 14, 2018 ) Colorado 0, San Francisco 2

One day after ending the longest losing streak of Bruce Bochy's managerial career, the San Francisco Giants aim for their second straight win Saturday against the visiting Colorado Rockies. The Giants snapped a season-long 11-game losing skid with Friday’s 2-0 victory over Colorado, which saw its lead in the National League West cut to a half-game over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Chris Stratton pitched a two-hitter and Austin Slater delivered a two-run single in Friday’s win as the Giants overcame another quiet night at the plate to end a seven-game losing streak against the Rockies. San Francisco has scored a total of five runs in its last four contests and needs more production from Brandon Crawford, who went 0-for-4 on Friday and is 13-for-87 with two extra-base hits over his last 25 games. Colorado's Trevor Story has seven home runs and 17 RBI in 13 games this month, while Charlie Blackmon is 11-for-24 during his seven-game hitting streak. The Rockies are seeking their first division title in franchise history and entered the weekend a season-high 16 games over .500, but they were held to two hits in the series opener.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH German Marquez (12-9, 3.94 ERA) vs. Giants LH Madison Bumgarner (5-6, 3.30)

Marquez recorded another stellar outing last Monday, allowing two runs (one earned) over seven innings while striking out 11 in a 13-2 win over Arizona. “He’s nasty, man,” Story told reporters. “It seems like when we need a win, he comes up there and gives his best effort. He's been huge for us.” Hunter Pence is 4-for-9 with two home runs against Marquez, who is 0-2 with a 6.86 ERA in four career starts versus San Francisco.

Bumgarner struggled in his second straight start and took the loss last Sunday after giving up five runs over six innings against Milwaukee. The four-time All-Star has yielded 11 runs over his last two outings and will be happy to be back at AT&T Park, where he owns a 1.49 home ERA in eight starts this season. Carlos Gonzalez is 21-for-67 with five homers against Bumgarner, who is 3-1 with a 1.47 ERA in his last six starts versus Colorado at home.

3. San Francisco C Nick Hundley is 9-for-25 over his last seven games.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
