Toronto @ Baltimore preview
Oriole Park at Camden Yards
Last Meeting ( Sep 17, 2019 ) Toronto 8, Baltimore 5
The Baltimore Orioles already have lost 100 games this season and the Toronto Blue Jays are doing their best to avoid joining them. After snapping a seven-game road losing streak Tuesday, the Blue Jays can make it three consecutive series wins for the first time this season when they continue a three-game set at the Orioles on Wednesday night.
Rookie Cavan Biggio hit for the third cycle in franchise history -- and first since 2001 -- to become part of only the second father-son duo to achieve the feat as Toronto leveled the season series at seven games apiece. Justin Smoak delivered the big blow with a tiebreaking homer in the top of the ninth, his major league-leading 21st blast in the ninth inning or extras over the past three seasons. Baltimore lost for the 13th time in 17 games despite a big night from Trey Mancini, who continued his late-season tear with a homer and four RBIs in an 8-5 setback. Mancini has four homers and 11 RBIs during a five-game hitting streak for the Orioles, who send Dylan Bundy to the mound to oppose Clay Buchholz on Wednesday.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays RH Clay Buchholz (1-5, 5.63 ERA) vs. Orioles RH Dylan Bundy (6-14, 4.99 ERA)
In the first matchup against the team with which he spent the bulk of his career, Buchholz matched a season low by lasting four innings and allowing four runs and seven hits in a loss to the Boston Red Sox. That loss dropped him to 1-3 since returning from a 3 1/2-month stint on the injured list, although he registered quality starts on the road at Tampa Bay and Seattle during that span. Chris Davis is 9-for-29 with a pair of homers off Buchholz, who is 6-3 with a 4.67 ERA at Camden Yards.
A pair of unearned runs hurt Bundy in his last outing, when he was charged with four runs and six hits in a 5-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He will be pitching on at least five days rest for the fourth consecutive turn when he faces the Blue Jays for the third time, earning a no-decision with 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball on Aug. 3 and earning the win by holding them to one run over 6 2/3 frames on July 5. Bundy, who is 2-9 with a 5.10 ERA at home, has held Randal Grichuk to 1-for-7.
WALK-OFFS
1. Grichuk has hit safely in nine straight overall and is 13-for-35 with five homers and five doubles versus Baltimore this season.
2. Orioles SS Jonathan Villar homered among two hits to extend his hitting streak to five games.
3. Biggio is 12-for-23 with two homers, two doubles, two triples, seven RBIs and 10 runs in his last six games.
PREDICTION: Blue Jays 5, Orioles 4
