Colorado @ Los Angeles preview
Dodger Stadium
Last Meeting ( Sep 21, 2019 ) Colorado 4, LA Dodgers 2
The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to make any progress in terms of wrapping up home-field advantage throughout the National League playoffs in their last contest, but several key milestones remain within reach over the next few days. The Dodgers attempt to rebound from a rare home loss to the Colorado Rockies when the NL West rivals conclude their one-sided season series on Sunday.
Los Angeles' magic number for clinching home-field advantage remained at three following Saturday's 4-2 defeat - a setback that was only its third against the Rockies in 18 meetings this season. While the defeat robbed the Dodgers (99-56) of any chance of tying a club record of 60 home wins (their final six games are on the road), a victory on Sunday would give them a club-record 33rd series win of the season and 100 victories for the eighth time in team history. Colorado ended its 12-game losing streak in Los Angeles by winning at Dodger Stadium for the first time since June 30, 2018, allowing only two unearned runs on Saturday after yielding a total of 133 over the first 17 meetings. The Rockies have played better of late despite remaining in the NL West basement, going 8-6 over their last 14 games following a 2-15 stretch.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Antonio Senzatela (10-10, 6.83 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Hyun-Jin Ryu (12-5, 2.35)
Senzatela has rebounded from a rough start against the Dodgers to begin the month to win his last two outings, even after yielding four runs over six innings versus the New York Mets on Monday. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily over the last three months, however, giving up at least four runs in seven of his eight starts since beating Los Angeles on June 28. Senzatela, who is allowing left-handed hitters to bat .341 against him, is 1-1 with a 5.65 ERA in three starts versus the Dodgers in 2019.
Ryu was unable to end a three-game losing streak despite turning in his best performance in over a month last Saturday, settling for a no-decision even though he allowed only two hits over seven scoreless innings against the Mets. The first-time All-Star also did not factor in the decision 10 days earlier against the Rockies after permitting three runs in 4 1/3 frames. Nolan Arenado is 15-for-28 with four homers and 10 RBIs versus Ryu, who is 9-1 with a 1.77 ERA in 13 home starts this season but 4-7 with a 4.94 mark in 14 career turns against Colorado.
WALK-OFFS
1. Dodgers INF Max Muncy (quadriceps), who has recorded five RBIs in his last two games, rested Saturday but is expected to return to the lineup for the series finale.
2. Arenado (illness) did not play Saturday but is batting .364 with seven homers and 14 RBIs this month.
3. Los Angeles, which has belted an NL-record 264 homers, is 82-35 when hitting at least one shot and 17-21 when failing to do so.
PREDICTION: Dodgers 8, Rockies 3
