Bruce Bochy's final homestand as manager of the San Francisco Giants continues on Thursday afternoon, when team concludes its three-game series against the Colorado Rockies. Bochy, who is retiring at the conclusion of his 13th season with the Giants, notched career win No. 2,002 on Wednesday as San Francisco prevailed 2-1.
Rookie Jaylin Davis provided the winning margin in Wednesday's game when he belted his first career homer, a one-out blast in the bottom of the ninth inning. Kevin Pillar contributed an RBI single for the Giants, who hold an 11-7 advantage over the Rockies entering the season-series finale. Colorado was hitless in 10 at-bats with runners in scoring position on Wednesday while dubiously reaching the 90-loss mark for the fourth time in the last eight seasons. Charlie Blackmon (3-for-3), Nolan Arenado (3-for-4, homer) and Trevor Story (2-for-2, homer) are a combined 8-for-9 versus scheduled Giants starter Tyler Beede.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies LH Kyle Freeland (3-11, 6.84 ERA) vs. Giants RH Tyler Beede (5-10, 5.23)
Freeland is expected to throw between 45 and 60 pitches in what likely is his final appearance of a tough campaign. The 26-year-old finished fourth in National League Cy Young Award balloting last season, when he went 17-7, but never found his stride this year as he has served up a career-worst 25 homers in 101 1/3 innings. Freeland is 1-1 with a 4.80 ERA in three starts against the Giants this season and 6-3 with a 3.13 ERA in 11 career meetings.
Beede was tagged for six runs and seven hits over six innings in a loss to Atlanta ion Wednesday. The 26-year-old rookie won both of his previous starts, giving up seven hits over 11 1/3 scoreless frames against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami. Beede lost to the Rockies on Aug. 4, when he gave up five runs and eight hits over 3 2/3 innings, and is 0-2 with a 11.12 ERA in two appearances (one start) versus the club.

1. Story was rested for the middle contest of the three-game set after going 2-for-12 with a homer and eight strikeouts during a three-game span.
2. San Francisco RHP Johnny Cueto threw a bullpen session Wednesday and how his arm responds will determine whether or not he starts on Friday against the Dodgers.
3. Colorado RHP Jeff Hoffman (knee) said he was feeling better Wednesday and had a "pretty big bruise" from the line drive that struck him during Tuesday's contest.
