New York @ Texas preview
Globe Life Park in Arlington
Last Meeting ( Sep 28, 2019 ) NY Yankees 4, Texas 9
The final game in the 26-year history of Globe Life Park will take place Sunday when the host Texas Rangers take on the New York Yankees on the last day of the regular season. The Rangers will move to Globe Life Field next season, leaving behind the stadium in which they made eight playoff runs and won seven American League West titles.
They didn't come close to achieving those goals in 2019 but hope to end their stay at the stadium on a high note after topping the Yankees 9-4 on Saturday. New York will be playing its final tune-up before hosting Minnesota for Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Friday. The Yankees will use an opener in the finale before giving some innings to Masahiro Tanaka, who figures to start one of the first three games of the playoffs. Lance Lynn will go for the Rangers as he ties his career high with a 33rd start.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees RH Masahiro Tanaka (11-8, 4.47 ERA) vs. Rangers RH Lance Lynn (15-11, 3.76)
Tanaka yielded a run and four hits in six strong innings to defeat the Los Angeles Angels at home on Sept. 19. It was his third quality start in the last five tries, including six innings of two-run ball in a tough loss to the Rangers at home Sept. 2. Shin-Soo Choo is 8-for-19 against Tanaka while Elvis Andrus is 7-for-17 versus the 30-year-old, who has allowed 15 runs in 15 career innings at Globe Life Park.
Lynn went eight straight starts without a win before picking one up at Oakland last Sunday. He held the Athletics to two runs in 5 1/3 innings with 12 strikeouts against one walk. The 32-year-old allowed three runs in five frames at Yankee Stadium earlier this month and is 1-2 with a 4.58 ERA in three career matchups with New York.
