Trae Young had 32 points and 15 assists to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 129-120 win over the visiting Phoenix Suns on Friday and extend their winning streak to three games.
Young scored at least 30 points for the 20th time this season and had his 30th double-double of the campaign. He was 12-for-17 from the floor and made seven 3-pointers, adding three steals and one block.
The Hawks have won 10 straight against the Suns in Atlanta.
Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 23 points, including four 3-pointers, and Dejounte Murray added 22 points, 13 in the fourth quarter, for Atlanta.
Phoenix was led by Kevin Durant, who had 35 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Devin Booker scored 24.
Atlanta led 66-63 after a spirited first half, which included seven lead changes and nine ties. The Suns shot 55.3 percent from the floor before halftime and were led by Durant's 16 points. The Hawks made eight 3-pointers, four of them by Young, who had 17 points and nine assists at the break.
The Hawks finished the third quarter on a 9-3 run, which included a free throw by Bogdanovic when Drew Eubanks received a rare technical for flopping. Atlanta led 100-95 entering the fourth quarter.
Atlanta took a 121-111 lead after Young stole the ball from Durant and hit a 3-pointer with 5:05 remaining. The Suns tried to mount a comeback, which was short-circuited when Eric Gordon's 3-pointer was negated after league officials in Secaucus, N.J., ruled he stepped out of bounds with 2:41 left with Phoenix trailing 125-118.
The Hawks played without De'Andre Hunter, who was ruled out due to load management on his knee. He returned Tuesday after missing 19 games. Hunter is expected to play again on Saturday when the Hawks host Golden State.
The Hawks could have used Hunter after Saddiq Bey took a hard fall near the end of the first half and sprained his left ankle. Bey was taken to the locker room for treatment and returned for the second-half warmups, but was unable to continue.
