The Atlanta Hawks had plenty of time to assess what went wrong in three straight losses and to give their injured players some rest before a stretch of three home games in four days begins with a date against the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. The Hawks, who last played Thursday against the Miami Heat, are hoping to get point guard Trae Young and forward John Collins back from ankle injuries this week.

Collins returned to practice over the weekend and Young, who leads the team in scoring (26.8 points) and assists (7.3) took part in shooting and conditioning drills and could return Tuesday or Wednesday. "It's amazing," Collins told the Atlanta Journal Constitution of the long break between games. "I'd say as a group, the NBA, NBA players love time off, days off, to just rest our body. All this travel, all the games, media, everything we have to do, all combined together, makes for a nice workload, so it's always nice to have a couple days off." The Spurs don't have the luxury of that much time off and are coming off a 103-96 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday that saw them shoot 39.8 percent from the floor, including 6-of-25 from beyond the arc. The loss marked the second in three games for San Antonio, which began the season with three consecutive wins.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, FS Southwest (San Antonio), FS Southeast (Atlanta)

ABOUT THE SPURS (4-2): San Antonio had no trouble scoring in a 127-110 win at Golden State on Friday but could not find the same rhythm against the Lakers as All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge was held to eight points on 2-of-9 shooting in 30 minutes and DeMar DeRozan went 5-of-15 from the floor. Reserve guard Patty Mills, who broke out with a season-high 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting against the Warriors, was held to four points on 1-of-6 from the floor on Sunday. The positive on offense came from point guard Dejounte Murray, who collected 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes after sitting out the previous game to rest his knee.

ABOUT THE HAWKS (2-3): Atlanta suffered a 106-97 home loss to the Heat on Thursday but came away encouraged by the performance of the reserves, who totaled 60 points, 26 rebounds and 12 assists. Jabari Parker's 23 points led the reserves and DeAndre' Bembry collected 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in 28 minutes. "It's always helpful for any team if the bench can come in and bring some type of energy, whether it's points or defensively getting stops," Bembry told reporters.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Hawks rookie SG Cam Reddish is shooting 20.9 percent from the floor, including 1-of-18 from 3-point range.

2. Spurs SF Rudy Gay recorded his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday.

3. San Antonio took both meetings last season and four of the last five in the series.

PREDICTION: Spurs 103, Hawks 99
