The Indiana Pacers will try to muster up some energy following a difficult road loss when they return home to host the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The Pacers had won three in a row and led by 14 points entering the fourth quarter at Charlotte on Tuesday before fading down the stretch and eventually falling in overtime 122-120.

T.J. Warren scored a season-high 33 points and Malcolm Brogdon added 31 in the loss for Indiana, which made six free throws to Charlotte's 28, including two with 1.7 seconds left on a controversial whistle on Pacers forward JaKarr Sampson. "I didn't feel that was a foul at all," Indiana coach Nate McMillan told reporters. "(Charlotte guard Devonte Graham) got two calls tonight our guys had our hands up, he's initiating the contact. We did foul a lot this game but I didn't think that was a foul." The Wizards ended a three-game losing streak with a 115-99 win over Detroit at home Monday night, which came two days after an embarrassing 22-point home loss to a Minnesota team playing without star center Karl-Anthony Towns. "We were disappointed," coach Scott Brooks told reporters of the loss to the Timberwolves. "We were. There's no way around it. It was a bad night on both ends of the floor. One thing I love about it: We came back. We took it on the chin. ... We needed them to get better from it."

TV: 7 p.m. ET, NBCS Washington, FS Indiana

ABOUT THE WIZARDS (2-4): Bradley Beal scored 22 points and handed out six assists in the win over the Pistons, and he echoed his coach's assessment of the team's ability to bounce back. "Still a lot of things we've got to work on, get better at," he told reporters. "But it is definitely a good sign to see, after last game." Fellow guard Isaiah Thomas was given his first start of the season and produced a season-low nine points after averaging 16.3 in three games off the bench.

ABOUT THE PACERS (3-4): Goga Bitadze had 11 rebounds and four blocked shots Tuesday while making his second straight start in place of injured center Myles Turner. Fellow big man Domantas Sabonis (calf), who is averaging 21.8 points and 11.4 rebounds, was also sidelined against the Hornets. Warren is 25-for-34 from the floor while averaging 29.5 points over his last two games.

BUZZER BEATERS
1. Wizards F C.J. Miles scored 12 points in 19 minutes Monday in his season debut after returning from foot surgery.
2. Brogdon is averaging 26 points on 58 percent shooting over his last three games.
