Last Meeting ( Oct 17, 2019 ) Atlanta 93, Chicago 111

Trae Young is back in the lineup for the Atlanta Hawks and the second-year point guard continues to put on a show. Young returned from a sprained ankle to help the Hawks snap a three-game losing streak Tuesday and he looks for another solid outing on Wednesday against the visiting Chicago Bulls.

Young missed one game due to his ailment and missed all eight of his first-half shots before erupting to score 28 of his 29 points in the second half as well as finishing with 13 assists during a 108-100 home win over the San Antonio Spurs. "I just slowed down," Young told reporters of his second-half success. "I was trying to find my rhythm early in the game and it was tough. ... (The ankle) felt good. I don't feel any pain. It's not 100 percent but it's acceptable." The Bulls have lost five of their past six games and suffered a fourth-quarter collapse on Tuesday when they were outscored 38-19 over the final 12 minutes en route to a 118-112 home loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Bulls held a 13-point lead entering the final quarter but the Lakers used a 16-0 run to start the final stanza en route to sending Chicago to another defeat.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, NBCS Chicago, FS Southeast (Atlanta)

ABOUT THE BULLS (2-6): Chicago coach Jim Boylen didn't call a timeout as Tuesday's game got away and kept reserves in the game despite the Lakers asserting control before defending his strategy after the contest. "I've got 15 guys to develop," Boylen told reporters after the loss. "I'm going to play them in those moments, and they're going to play in those moments and they're going to learn to play winning basketball. I've never yanked guys. I've never done that, you know. I'm not doing that." Shooting guard Zach LaVine recorded 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists while topping 20 points for the third straight game and fifth of the season.

ABOUT THE HAWKS (3-3): Atlanta learned prior to Tuesday's game that standout power forward John Collins was suspended for 25 games without pay due to violating the league's anti-drug program. Collins, who is averaging 17 points and a team-leading 8.8 rebounds, tested positive for a growth hormone and he said he will appeal the penalty. "I understand the impact this matter has on what we are trying to achieve together this season, and I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed in myself for putting all of us in this position," Collins said in a statement. "I have always been incredibly careful about what I put in my body, but I took a supplement, which, unbeknownst to me, had been contaminated with an illegal component."

BUZZER BEATERS
