Last Meeting ( Mar 2, 2019 ) Oklahoma City 102, San Antonio 116

The San Antonio Spurs dropped three of their last four games and are hoping to bounce back during a three-game homestand. The Spurs will try to avoid a third consecutive setback when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday.

San Antonio could not figure out a way to stop Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young late on Tuesday and was outscored 38-22 in the fourth quarter of a 108-100 setback. The Spurs averaged 121 points in their four wins but 97.7 in the three losses and went 8-of-33 from 3-point range in Tuesday's loss to the Hawks. The Thunder are looking for their first road win but are coming off back-to-back victories at home and knocked off the Orlando Magic 102-94 on Tuesday. "I think we're getting better minute by minute, game by game," Oklahoma City forward Danilo Gallinari told reporters after the win. "We are on the right path. We're improving every time and doing it for 48 minutes, and we did it very well tonight throughout the whole game."

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, FS Oklahoma, FS Southwest (San Antonio)

ABOUT THE THUNDER (3-4): Oklahoma City is trying to develop a defensive identity and held the Magic to 39 percent from the floor on Tuesday and was especially stingy in the fourth quarter. "We were talking about it after the game; we are sort of figuring it out," Thunder point guard Chris Paul told reporters. "Finding some sets that we like to go to. The biggest thing is coach said we held them to 15 points in the fourth quarter." The offense is being led by second-year guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored a team-high 24 points on Tuesday and is averaging 22.1 points.

ABOUT THE SPURS (4-3): All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge averaged nine points on 10-of-31 shooting in the team's three losses and missed his lone 3-point attempt on Tuesday. Fellow former All-Star DeMar DeRozan scored a team-high 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting in the loss and is averaging 20.6 points on 51.4 percent shooting to go with 4.1 assists. The Spurs are looking for some consistency from veteran guard Patty Mills, who followed up a 31-points effort on Friday with four points on 1-of-6 shooting in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday and then went 5-of-6 from the floor en route to 16 points on Tuesday.
