A pair of teams coming off impressive offensive performances clash Friday night in Indiana as the Pacers host the Detroit Pistons in the third meeting between the squads already this season. The Pacers dished out a season-high 35 assists -- 13 by Malcolm Brogdon -- in Wednesday's 121-106 win over Washington to begin their two-game homestand.

"We showed them tape [from Tuesday's loss at Charlotte] of our shot selection, shooting the floaters, not taking the extra dribble, getting to the rim and drawing contact," coach Nate McMillan told reporters. "Tonight I think we did a much better job of not settling for floaters and the ball movement was great." The Pistons, despite still being without several key players, shot 55.7 percent from the floor and recorded their own season high with 37 assists in a 122-102 win over New York at home. Tony Snell hit all nine of his shots and became the first player in NBA history to shoot 100 percent from the field with at least six 3-pointers in a masterful 24-point effort. Center Andre Drummond averaged 25 points and 20.5 rebounds in wins over Indiana on Oct. 23 and Oct. 28.

ABOUT THE PISTONS (4-5): Drummond (27 points) and Markieff Morris (22) helped out Snell on Wednesday and the trio combined to shoot 28-for-36 from the floor. Snell's record-setting performance came after he had gone 5-for-17 from long distance over the previous three games, but he also felt things open up with improved passing. "They just depend on me to go out there and do what I do best, and shoot the ball. The best way to do it is to have ball movement," he told reporters. "They're very confident in me. I'm confident as well."

ABOUT THE PACERS (4-4): Indiana has won four of five following an 0-3 start and Brogdon has carried the load through the ups and downs, averaging 22.3 points and 9.9 assists - second in the NBA entering Thursday - on the season. Reserve forward Doug McDermott provided a big boost in the win over the Wizards with a season-high 19 points, 17 in the first half to help the Pacers race to an eight-point lead. "I can shoot it anywhere," McDermott told the media after also recording season highs of seven rebounds and four assists. "I'm excited to just make some shots. It's always good."

1. Brogdon led the NBA in foul shooting (92.8 percent) last season and has opened 2019-20 by making 43 of his first 44 attempts.

2. F Blake Griffin (hamstring) and G Reggie Jackson (back) remain out while guards Derrick Rose (hamstring) and Tim Frazier (shoulder) were upgraded to day-to-day.

3. Pacers PF Domantas Sabonis averaged 24 points and 13.5 boards in the two earlier losses to Detroit.
