Last Meeting ( Jan 26, 2019 ) Indiana 103, Memphis 106

The Indiana Pacers have received some great production from Aaron Holiday while he fills in for some of their injured guards, but they'll be happy to welcome back Malcolm Brogdgon on Monday against the visiting Memphis Grizzlies. Holiday has made eight straight starts, five for shooting guard Jeremy Lamb and then three in place of Brogdon.

He averaged 19.5 points and 8.5 assists over the last two games and hit a go-ahead 3-pointer in Saturday's 111-106 win over Orlando, but will take a back seat when Brogdon returns Monday. "(My back feels great). I'm going to play tomorrow," Brogdon, who is averaging team highs of 19.2 points and 8.2 assists, told reporters at practice Sunday. That will give Brogdon an intriguing matchup with standout rookie Ja Morant, who scored 26 points while recording six assists and five steals in a one-point loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. That was the third straight defeat for Memphis, which has also lost three in a row at Indiana.

ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (5-10): Although Saturday's loss completed a 1-3 homestand for Memphis, it took some comfort in pushing the NBA-leading Los Angeles Lakers to the wire. "If we can play like that every night, we have ourselves a chance," coach Taylor Jenkins told reporters after his team hit 14-of-30 3-pointers and won the rebounding battle 47-40. Jae Crowder and Jaren Jackson Jr. joined Morant in the 20-point club while making a combined 8-of-16 triples.

ABOUT THE PACERS (9-6): While the backcourt has had its comings and goings, a staple along the frontline is Domantas Sabonis, who entered Sunday ranked fifth in the NBA with 13.4 rebounds. The Gonzaga product saw his double-double streak end at eight in the win over Orlando but finished with 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists. His effort made up for a stinker from fellow forward T.J. Warren, who slumped to a season-low two points on 1-of-4 shooting in 28 minutes.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Morant is averaging 21.4 points and 7.4 assists over his last five games.

2. Pacers C Myles Turner has 10 blocked shots and 22 rebounds in three contests since returning from an ankle injury.

3. The teams meet again in Memphis the following Monday.

PREDICTION: Pacers 111, Grizzlies 101
