The Washington Wizards aim to get their high-scoring offense back on track when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday in the second contest of a four-game road trip. Washington needed 35 points in the fourth quarter to avoid scoring less than 100 for the second time this season in Tuesday's 117-104 loss against the Denver Nuggets.

The Wizards averaged 105 points in back-to-back losses to the Sacramento Kings and Nuggets after scoring more than 120 in each of their previous five outings and coach Scott Brooks is concerned. "This is going to be a tough trip if we don't give resistance and don't compete the way we've been competing and playing against some of the best teams in the West," Brooks said of a trip that concludes with games in Los Angeles against the Lakers and Clippers. Phoenix started off with a 7-4 mark but the tired club dropped four of its last five games after suffering a 116-104 road loss to Denver on Sunday. "Maybe we did run out of gas, but I'm proud of the way our guys fought," Suns coach Monty Williams said after his team's fifth game in seven nights.

ABOUT THE WIZARDS (5-10): High-scoring shooting guard Bradley Beal, who has posted eight games of 30 or points more this season, had a season-low 14 on 6-of-15 shooting in the loss to Denver. Beal wasn't the only starter to struggle as rookie forward Rui Hachimura had seven points on 3-of-10 shooting and point guard Isaiah Thomas had three points on 1-of-8 shooting with Thomas saying the following afterward: "One of the worst games I played, for sure." Backup forward Moritz Wagner continues to play well and is 40-of-59 shooting over the past seven games, reaching double digits in six of them after scoring 14 on Tuesday.

ABOUT THE SUNS (8-8): Star guard Devin Booker tallied a season-low 12 points against the Nuggets, less than half his average that sits at 24.8 per game. Forward Cheick Diallo emerged out of practically nowhere to score a career-best 22 points after entering with 31 in 10 contests. "I don't really care about my career high. I just want to win," Diallo said afterward. "It's just opportunity. Just being ready all season. I think it's opportunity for me to show everybody what I can do. I've got a chance to play, so I've just got to show everybody what I can do. ... If my number gets called, I'm ready to go."
