The San Antonio Spurs finally have a victory over a team with a winning record and they hope to build off the impressive triumph when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. After six victories -- all against teams that entered the weekend under .500 -- in 19 games to start the season, the Spurs had an impressive second half en route to a 107-97 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

"This wasn't just any old team," San Antonio's DeMar DeRozan told reporters. "It's a high-caliber team in our conference. We went out there and compete, compete, compete and the outcome came out our way." The Pistons are coming off a pair of losses to the Charlotte Hornets in a home-and-home set, falling to 5-4 at home with Friday's 110-107 loss. All three of their setbacks against the Hornets this season have come by three points or fewer, and Detroit has dropped six in a row overall in games decided by single digits. "We are putting ourselves in position to win, we just have to get thought in the game, and execution in the fourth quarter and down the stretch," Pistons coach Dwane Casey told reporters.

TV: 5 p.m. ET, FS Southwest (San Antonio), FS Detroit

ABOUT THE SPURS (7-13): LaMarcus Aldridge scored 17 points in the win over the Clippers and Derrick White matched him while making a career-high five 3-pointers in seven attempts. "I think I'm going to take like 20 next game," White told reporters. "Just try to get the looks that I get, let it fly, shoot with confidence." White was 8-of-29 from beyond the arc in November before he found his touch Friday night.

ABOUT THE PISTONS (6-13): Detroit was 10-of-20 from the foul line in Friday's loss after going 9-of-15 in the defeat at Charlotte two nights earlier, two rough showings that hurt in tight games. Blake Griffin missed a freebie in the closing moments Friday and Andre Drummond, who has improved his once-woeful results at the line, went 1-for-4. Derrick Rose led the Postons with 23 points, his best total since Nov. 1.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. DeRozan hit his first 3-pointer of the season Friday while tying his season high in rebounds (nine) and steals (three).

2. Griffin is averaging 19.7 points and 5.1 rebounds since making his season debut seven games ago.

3. The Spurs have won four straight meetings.

PREDICTION: Spurs 105, Pistons 101
