Carmelo Anthony is fitting in nicely with the Portland Trail Blazers, who look to notch their fourth straight win when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. The recently signed Anthony is averaging 17.7 points in six games with Portland since joining the club two weeks ago.

Anthony is averaging 22.3 points during the three-game winning streak and has made 27-of-47 field-goal attempts during the stretch. The 10-time All-Star had 23 points and 11 rebounds in Friday's 107-103 home win over the Chicago Bulls to notch his 755th career 20-point game, snapping a tie with Oscar Robertson to trail ninth-place Dominique Wilkins by one on the all-time list. The Clippers fell two points shy of matching the franchise record for points in a game when Kawhi Leonard (34 points) and Paul George (31) were both excelling during Sunday's 150-125 triumph over the visiting Washington Wizards. "We just came out a little bit more aggressive as a unit," said stellar Sixth Man Lou Williams, who contributed 22 points and eight assists as the club won for the eighth time in nine games. "We were very efficient on the offensive end. The shots we took a lot of times were ones we wanted to take."

ABOUT THE TRAIL BLAZERS (8-12): Center Hassan Whiteside set a franchise record with 10 blocks in Friday's victory and he also collected 15 rebounds as he owned the interior. "I just think his urgency and his purpose was different," star point guard Damian Lillard said of Whiteside. "I think he played like he was trying to impact the game in the way that we know he can." Whiteside, who was obtained from the Miami Heat in the offseason, is averaging 14.8 points, 12.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots in 17 games and has recorded 10 double-doubles.

ABOUT THE CLIPPERS (15-6): George came out strong with 27 first-half points against Washington after notching a season-low five points on 2-of-11 shooting two nights earlier during a loss to the San Antonio Spurs. "Just shoot more and be aggressive, be in attack mode," George said of his approach during a postgame television interview. "Just play my game and come out and look to score rather than come out and be passive and looking to set up guys. I think once I'm aggressive to score the ball, everything else, my whole game opens up. That's the key moving forward." Reserve power forward Montrezl Harrell added 23 points and a career-best 15 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the campaign.
