Last Meeting ( Nov 6, 2019 ) Chicago 113, Atlanta 93

The Atlanta Hawks attempt to bounce back from a devastating setback when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Atlanta led by six with 59.9 seconds left in regulation against the Miami Heat on Tuesday before allowing the next 22 points while falling 135-121 in overtime.

Star point guard Trae Young yelled "It's over!" when the Hawks went ahead by six but instead the club collapsed and lost for the 12th time in the past 14 contests. "We ran out of gas in overtime," Atlanta coach Lloyd Pierce told reporters afterward. "... We couldn't slow them down with a basket. Our inability to score at that point was more the issue then what they were doing." Chicago has lost three straight games, including a painful 93-92 home loss to the Toronto Raptors on Monday when Zach LaVine's last-second runner bounced off the mark. "It's disappointing when we don't win games," Bulls coach Jim Boylen told reporters. "It's disappointing when we don't win home games. Nobody is running from that. But this team is playing hard and competing and they're learning and they're growing. I think people can see that, too.

ABOUT THE HAWKS (6-18): First-round pick De'Andre Hunter scored a season-high 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting versus the Heat to top 25 for the third time this season. "I thought this was one of his more solid games as far as offense and defense," Pierce said of the forward from Virginia. "He was able to make plays and create plays when we were dead at the end of the shot clock. I thought he was great all night. It was really encouraging to see." Young had 21 points and nine assists against Miami after scoring 30 or more in six of the previous eight games.

ABOUT THE BULLS (8-17): LaVine scored 20 points - all in the first half - against Toronto and continues to think progress is just around the corner. "We're trying our best," LaVine told reporters. "We have to break through to the point where we make the play at the end or get out to that seven or eight-point lead and we coast to the end. It shouldn't even have gotten to that point because we were playing that team really well." Point guard Kris Dunn battles consistency issues and he had just three points on 1-of-8 shooting against the Raptors after scoring a season-high 16 one night earlier against the Heat.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Bulls PG Tomas Satoransky scored a career-best 27 points as his team recorded a 113-93 road win over the Hawks on Nov. 6.

3. Atlanta made 20 3-pointers against Miami after knocking down 18 against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.
