Last Meeting ( Mar 28, 2019 ) Dallas 99, Miami 105

The Dallas Mavericks stayed hot in a trip south of the border and will try to carry the momentum home when they host the Miami Heat on Saturday. Behind a 41-point triple-double by Luka Doncic, the Mavericks posted a 122-111 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday in Mexico City.

Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points as Dallas won for the 11th time in its last 13 games. "I think we're getting better and better every day," Doncic told reporters of him and Porzingis. "He's going to get better. I'm going to get better. And with us two, the team is going to get way better." The Heat will be finishing up a challenging back-to-back after suffering their first home loss of the season to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Miami was outrebounded 50-34 while sustaining its first setback at AmericanAirlines Arena since April 3, 2019.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, FS Sun (Miami), FS Southwest (Dallas)

ABOUT THE HEAT (18-7): Jimmy Butler has scored at least 20 points in all seven games this month after putting up 23 in the 113-110 loss to Los Angeles on Friday. However, he is 1-for-13 from 3-point range over a three-game span and missed a relatively open look from beyond the arc at the buzzer against the Lakers. Center Bam Adebayo notched his fourth straight double-double in the loss with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

ABOUT THE MAVERICKS (17-7): Seth Curry scored 30 points while making 11-of-15 shots off the bench in the Mexico City win, becoming the first Dallas player to reach the 30-point mark off the bench in nearly eight years. "Even when Detroit was playing zone, our guys were making an effort to drive-and-kick, drive-and-kick and find Seth ultimately for the shot," coach Rick Carlisle told the media. "Real happy for him. He did everything. He drove it. He shot it. He made a couple good plays on the breaks. He made a couple good passes. He was a huge contributor tonight." Curry hit 6-of-9 3-pointers in the win while posting a season-high seven rebounds.
