Last Meeting ( Nov 11, 2019 ) Memphis 113, San Antonio 109

After a recent stretch of improved play, the San Antonio Spurs were demolished on their home floor Saturday night. They'll try to bounce back on the road when they begin a two-game trip at the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

The Spurs won five of eight - including victories over the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets - before getting dismantled by the Clippers 134-109, allowing 110 points through the first three quarters alone. "It's embarrassing," guard DeMar DeRozan told reporters. "It's frustrating, especially when you're out there trying hard, definitely frustrating." The young and talented Grizzlies have won two in a row at home after opening 4-11 in FedExForum. They held on for a 119-115 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday behind a balanced attack that saw seven players in double figures.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, FS Southwest (San Antonio), FS Southeast (Memphis)

ABOUT THE SPURS (11-17): DeRozan scored 24 points and San Antonio shot a solid 51.2 percent from the floor Saturday night, but the stops were few and far between against a Clippers team that rattled off 36 points off turnovers. "We give up 76 points in the paint; they get 36 points off turnovers," coach Gregg Popovich told the media. "You're not going to win that basketball game. It must be some kind of record, points off turnovers. It was pretty sloppy." Forward LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in 12 points Saturday while failing to get to the foul line for just the second time this season.

ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (11-19): Memphis has loads of young talent but it relied heavily on veteran Jae Crowder (17 points, 10 rebounds) on Saturday while surviving the kind of game they've lost multiple times this season. "Hopefully we're learning, trying to find out how to close games. That's a big part of the NBA being able to close games," Crowder told reporters. "We withstood some runs and responded. The other two nights (on a recent 0-2 road trip), other teams went on runs, and we sort of didn't answer the bell." Jaren Jackson Jr. scored a team-high 18 points to go with a season high-tying four blocks and a season-high three steals.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. The Grizzlies made 15-of-35 3-pointers Saturday and they've hit at least 10 from long range in a franchise-record nine straight games.

2. Spurs SG Marco Belinelli made 4-of-5 3-pointers Saturday after going 1-of-8 over his previous three games.

3. Jackson scored 24 points to help Memphis win the first meeting 113-109 at San Antonio on Nov. 11.

PREDICTION: Grizzlies 115, Spurs 113
